Grouptrack in SX - Scope alternative

Post by Ume »

Mixing
Sequenser - Cubase SX (only audiotracks)

I'v been using XTC-mode for too long.
It's time to learn the Scope alternatives again.
Can somebody tell me a good way to make group-tracks with the Scope-system.

Should I use the smaller mixers as groups?
Should I use Cubase grouptracks ?

I hope you understand my question.

Have a nice day

Scope mixers don't have Cubase like group organzing.
You can group channels using the buss system (check 'Buspage' on mixer) and fold back the bus in a mixer channel again (prevend the channel from direct monitoring with the channel mute button).
Of course you can still use the Cubase group function, up to your needs of effects and mixing).

i'd use cubase groups for convienience. the bigger scope mixers(stm2448 and 4896) also have groups. i don't think there's a right or wrong here, just whatever works best for your production. i see nothing wrong with using a small mixer if it suits your purpose.

bus, group, same thing...in this case...

a bus could be an aux, so the terminology can be confusing...
