Recording Vocals

Post by Conqueror's Reign »

Hello Planetz
Does anyone have any suggestions on creating a channel strip to record vocals in/thru SFP using the standard 4.0 plug ins and optimaster.

My approach is to do eventually something (I have Apogee Mini Me Pre-Converters with an awesome limiter/compressor that I use very moderately to avoid excessive peaks) before the digital conversion to avoid clipping the converters, but after that all you can achieve while recording can be also achieved later with the bonus that what you do when recording can't be changed.

I'd just go straight to the track, while you can well add a bit of reverb or else just for the monitored signal (processes that don't go to the track) if this helps the singer. Later you can add whatever you want and judge with your ears, without compromising the possibility to change.

:)
