I have just been on the Creamware Website and hunted around. In the download Software section there is a new version of the Windows Client software.
ftp://ftp.creamware.de/Software/ASB-Boxes/PRO-12/WinXP
There are also the DSP fixes allowing that correct:
"improvements of new DSP software version Pro-12_ASB_OS_2_00.ldr
1. Important controllers are dezipped, so that no noise is produced,
while changing these controllers:
Volume
Device Volume
OSCA Volume
OSCB Volume
External Volume
Cutoff frequency
Envelope Amount
2. Glide time can be much longer now.
3. Perfect voice stealing, even with long release. "

You will need the key "Please contact Ralf Bach from Creamware Germany to get the Key.
Write to : rb@creamware.de ".
Great stuff - shame they cannot email registered users with news of the updates, but they do for sales.
Now just waiting for the key from Ralf.

They didn't have dezipped controllers before!? That was always one of the big perks of the Scope plugins.
Well, it's good to see they've fixed the problems...hope you can get your key.

The controllers were a bit "digital" in use, which meant I could not record filter movements as part of my midi performance. Also looking forward to a decent Glide and improved Voice stealing.
Ralf has very quickly submitted my key (thanks Ralf). Going to Stockholm in a few hours and so will update on Thursday when I return. I will post the results on here once I have updated.
Ralf has very quickly submitted my key (thanks Ralf). Going to Stockholm in a few hours and so will update on Thursday when I return. I will post the results on here once I have updated.
I loaded up this morning.
1) Download the new windows/Mac software (V2).
2) Download the new ldr files via the downloads link from the creamware home page. If you have all these files on a USB key (my music pc is not connected to the web) then the update software can stop the USB key from working so copy the files to the HD and load from there.
3) Get your serial number and email to Ralf asking for an activation key.
4) Ensure that you have backed up all your Internal and USER Presets TO A FILE using connected software (Windows or MAC). You need to ensure that your presets are saved to a separate disk file.
5) Copy this preset disk file and save it elsewhere on the disk to be sure you have a copy!
6) Run the client software and go the prefs section.
7) Point to the V2 ldr file on the hard disk (DO NOT USE A USB KEY).
Enter the Activation key.
9) The system warns regrading overwriting "internal Presets". This includes wiping your USER memory so ensure you have backed all this up!!!!!!!!
10) The upgrade continues.
11) It tells you when you are finished.
12) In the Client Software, reload your User patches to your ASB as these have been reset.
Ok so the upgrade has worked. What next.
You have to go through every patch that uses glide. The glide has now been corrected to allow much longer portamento. All patches using this will need adjustment. (This includes the Factory Presets!!!).
The filter/resonance etc are fantastic. Just like using my Analogue gear without any stepping. I really love this and will now be using the controls in some of my midi performances.
The glide (portamento) is alot more useful and can now do all sorts of weird and wonderful playing. Put a long echo on and long glide and get lost in a world of glides!!!!
The Voice stealing is a million times better and slow attack legato/long release patches can now be really played without the popping occuring from voice stealing issues.
Summary
-------
All in all this is an excellent and worthwhile FREE upgrade and is is well worth applying, whilst bringing you a much more quality instrument that demands the price tag. The knob twiddlers amongst us (Isn't that why we went for ASB rather than pure software!) can now use the machine with some gusto and record twiddling into the performance with confidence. The new glide makes the instrument more fun.
I would personally like the machine to be re-reviewed in SoundonSound as all the issues stated in teh review have been corrected and I belive we have a much beter instrument for this upgrade/fix. Providing such a mechanism/service does alot to give customers a comfortable feeling about purchasing such equipment and should be part of their marketing.
Well done to Creamware for listening and providing us with the straight forward mechanism for updating the machine. If you follow these instructions you will have a very large smile on your face. If not then you are just a grumpy git and never smile!

Not sure how you do that, but a great idea if someone wants to oblige. It's not really one to keep quiet about as it really is good and well worth the minimal effort. On 2006-09-15 05:09, darkrezin wrote:
Maybe it would be good to mention it on their forum (SOS)
Shame creamware ASB website does not make it clear that there is an update as I had to hunt for it! If I was Creamware I would put it on their ASB Page as well as the Creamware Page.
Never seen a company so adverse to not spreading their achievements!
