Hello

Updated the OS on my Minimax ASB with ...

ftp://ftp.creamware.com/Software/ASB-Bo ... S_1_04.ldr

... which I assume isn't 00000102 as it has a four in it! But if I hit refresh in the remote software it still reads 00000102. Has it been updated or not? What is the latest OS?

Confused

The version # shown under "Hardware info" describes the built of the internal controller,
which operates your machine. But software updates do not change the version of the
hardware controller itself, but only the DSP software running the application.

IF you run the OS upgrade and got a confirmation that the OS upgrade is successful then it is up to date.

Ok cool. Is there a way to check? Thanks for the reply.

Jim.

and I quote "If you run the OS upgrade and got a confirmation that the OS upgrade is successful then it is up to date."

Oh shut up you idiot! Don't be so rude and patronising. I did read your post. Why is it that people on the Intenet feel they can speak to people how they damn well like sometimes? Well you can't.

Do you represent CreamWare? Shame on you if you do. Poor customer relations.

FWIW, it's not uncommon for EPROM flashing to fail ungracefully nor software to report a success when it has infact failed. As an engineer myself I would provide a facility to confirm an OS upgrade from a hardware unit as well as software.

Don't bother helping me in the future if you are unable to courteously thank you. "No there is no way of checking" would have sufficed.

I posted twice and I was merely pointing you to the second post where I said that if the OS upgrade show success this means you are up to date.

I did not mean to be rude and or patronising

That is NOT why I come here.

Sorry you feel that way.

Oh eh, ooh, ok, well if that wasn't your intention, then I apologise for my short temper and humbly back down and thank you once again for your help.

God, damn Internet, sends you all wrong sometimes, you know how it can be on forums sometimes, particularly tech related ones ... even so I jumped the gun eh ...

... flowers, fluffy rabbits, happy vibes, sunshine, good energy to you etc sorry

Planetz is a forum where people blindly know that (sometimes short) words aren't meant to be rude, even not unfriendly or arrogant.

You're obviously new to Planetz, and you appollogized already to the max, so it's not my aim to correct you
Maybe it's still usefull to see that it's not only that you misinterpreted the situation.
It's also that we try to avoid words like 'idiot' and thelike (Ali wasn't even rough at all, not for 1 %).

Not that we are so soft or decent, but it's the only way to keep the place the pleasant 'lounge' it is, where it's nice to hang around sometimes, for some of us even on a dayly base

Planetz is different, we are our own moderators so to say, personnal attacks or rude words are not really tolerated.
We try, so to say, to keep John Cooper, who's the founder and host of our community, free from any moderating tasks (except boring stuff like re-organizing wrongly addressed posts and removing Spam and the belonging accounts  ).
New flowers for John

The folks from CWA join us now and then, and they read our posts, which is fantastic already on a public yet private forum.
Even do they sometimes pre-announcements on Planetz, and support Planetz (John) with special offers for Planetz members only, but to John's bank account
Ralf B., who deals with all keys requests and much more, is even direktly addressable on Planetz, where do you find that on the net?

Planetz -and also it's French sister community- is more than once said to be a great and valuable community by Creamware's officials like Ali, Ralf B. and Frank Hund.
The last thing they wanne do is being rough to Planetz members, that's for sure.
Like all of us

Ok then, the iron is hot, wellrespected Creamware folks, let's now talk about OSX support, so that we Mac owners can start thinking about buying a MagmaPCI->PCIx box or something...
Much more interesting, hehe
Any, any announcement of an announcement in the future to do about the relationship between Creamware and the new Intel macs?
I promise flowers!

I was very close to stepping in to try to alleviate some pressure, but as usual, it seems you guys moderated yourselves into an understanding. As Hubird said, planetz is really a pretty cool place.

Writing in emails and forums is very easy to misunderstand, easy to wrongly interpret or overreact- people here are typically pretty good at realizing when that shit is happening and reeling it in...

Welcome to planetz!

Cheers,
-John

Yes agreed words like 'idiot' never required and Ali I have no reason to think you are one at all.

I guess I thought I heard "Duh! Dumb ass! Re-read my post, are you stupid?" But I didn't stop to *think* whether I really had. Although hopefully some will agree that's a vibe often thrown about in forums. Some people see "Posts=1" and equate it with "bait" etc. Infact I had just been over at http://www.mpc-forums.com which is about as unfriendly as forums get.

Which is clearly nothing like this one and I thank you for the warm welcome despite my introduction!

So apologies once again and let normal service resume. Next thing on my horizon is a Prodyssey to sit alongside my Minimax ... mmmm

It is pretty strange though that there is no way to check what version o.s. you are currently running.
