hi shroomz,
the formats for potentiometers are 32 bit tga animations with alpha channel, the names must be as pot001 pot002 and so on and the number of max frames is 128, but 33 is enough for good results (from spacef tips).
For backgrounds panels, 24 bit bitmap.
For faders, can be used 1 single frame for knobs.
For buttons, 24 bit bitmaps are ok.
I'm a beginner in sdk world and this is what i know at the moment and hope this helps.

Yes, i've never tried it with stiched filmstrips, but i think it does not work.Do you mean the pot animations are using (for example) up to 128 separate tga files & not a stitched filmstrip?
yes, the horizontal and vertical knobs needs just one file (32 bit tga if you need alpha channel), but a fader can be done by using more images, for example, one image for the knob and one for the strip.Ok, that sounds a bit like synthedt. Are they done without a 'mask' file, IE is it just one frame, one file?
for buttons states, you must do one image for each state. Are buttons & switches done with 2 or more separate files/frames, or are the different states stitched into a filmstrip?
Yes, i can send you some of the files used for transient killa, i've done all in 3d world with cinema 4d.Hey, any chance of seeing some examples of graphics files used?
