I have found yet another device that kicks my ass. The SSB Modulator!! I've been playing GS3 D6 Clavinet licks through my ancient Apollo Cry Baby, '60's vintage wah-wah. I get the Funk/Fusion shit going pretty good. But I'm trying not to spend any more money on stuff till I master my rig more profficiently, this is very hard. So deeper curiosity brought me into the FX and SSB Mod.
Damn this thing is great sounding. I use to use a ring modulator, and Electric Mistress on my Rhodes back in the day, but now I can use aftertouch, and pedals while I use both hands. I am determined to come up with new and unique styles and sounds every week, cause alot of poeople keep coming back to our gig, and we musn't let them down. We are starting a hot little following, due to our versatility. It reminds me of New Orleans. All ages of people dancing, and having fun. Dancers come in nightly, and practice their routines( and fantasies also )So every night on our more improv type sections I throw a few curves at the gig. We have had requests for Disco ( yeccchh! )but I can think of a few songs where this great little plug will work. Remember Parliament? Funcadelics? That is as disco-ey as I can allow myself to go. Sorry, no Bee Gees.

The SSB stuff is amazing...I use it expecially for rythm sounds. a very little tweak can change completely the sound of a drumset, you can transform a Ian Paice snare to a Bill bruford one...but what's really amazing is the SSB delay. a stupid and bad sounding percussive loop taken from a review cd can become a phantasmagoria of unusual and magic percussions spread all over the spectrum.

I'm stoked! This is the first time I ever sat in front of 3 computers and 5 LCD's! I'm on my studio box, my live rig, and the forum.I am going to try the delay right now. This is such a great platform. I'm going to go back in my mind, and remember every little sound that I loved when I was a little punk woodshedding Hendrix licks, and do it with Scope. I thought I was on Acid last night, I was playing stuff in reverse on my Line 6 echo Pro. Got some great licks for the gig tonight.
Thanks for your response Alfonse, I often read your replies and great tips. Hope to hear more from you in da future.

I really do appreciate observations and threads like these. Often i find myself looking at all these effects and tools without having the slightest idea about what to do with them, how to use them and where to aply them etc.

Please keep'em coming guys

I'm happy I can help a bit....
When I don't have to work and no ideas are coming I just play with all the stuff we have, so I find some solutions that can be used when I need to.
I have collected in a couple of years of a music magazine cd's many hundreds of grooves, from good enough to crappy, but they are all divided in bpm folders, with the help of the scope fx's they are a wonderful source of rythm..nothing remains the same but the basic rythmic feel is the only thing I check from grooves, who cares for the sound, scope makes the sound!
Well, I'm a bit timid for announcements, but at the moment a CD I've been working a lot in the last two years is being manifactured in the U.S.A. and will be sold online through CD Baby.
It contains almost everything I learned on the Scope Platform, 100% of the synths and the effects are Scope stuff, and I'm pretty proud of the results.
When it comes out, all the members of PlanetZ that get it will be entitled to ask how something was made and to receive the modulars and the presets used....I won't upload them to PlZ, but post them directly.

Alfonso,
The SSB Delay is great. I use a line 6 Echo Pro, but find myself playing backwards synth loops with it. The SSB is extremely flexible. Making it into a Maestro EP3 tube/tape delay was a breeze. I've got Celmos Tape Sim doing my old Roland Space Echo, the SSB doing my Lex PCM 41, and Line 6 covering everything else. This makes composition a snap when all the sounds of your palette can be summoned at a push of a button. I've been tweaking sounds too long. Time for writing my new Synthony.
