is there any chance that cw will come up something like waves did. im confused to buy a srb booster coz within a year motherboards will come up with only 1 pci or so...
what do you think? should i wait...
thanks
External Hardware DSP from Creamware
Don't the ASB boxes, although preloaded with a single device, or Noah do just that? They are standalone processors. And isn't the whole Scope platform a much more powerfull environment - figure the box with any possible IO, but inside the computer, 'offloading' CPU? Or at least offering different sound scaping options... I'm not sure I understand what you're after...

While the responses to the initial question are valid points of view, they kind of neglect the actual question.
I look at my daw which isn't only 3 Creamware cards, it's also my sequencer, a shitload of vst-plugins and other native tools, which are all evolving - all in one box at my fingertips, the way I like . In this evolving process especially the sequncer, the native plugins and my waveeditor is constantly undergoing changes and their demands in computer-power is evergrowing, which leads me to the nead of upgrading my system, which again leads me to the question: will I be able to use the CW-cards in the future the way i will expect I nead to use it (the way I'm using it now, in one box etc.)?
I do know that my Creamware investment alone will continue to be able to deliver the same sound, but will it also be able to deliver the convinience it now represents and fulfull my needs in a DAW?
I'm not sure I want to run two computers and properbly have to live with a combersome communication between the two machines in order to run an up to date DAW in the future.
I believe that these were the actual questions asked, but not those answered.
I too would like to know if there will ever be a hardware update of CW SCOPE. If I knew this would actually happen I wouldn't think twice before making further investments in SCOPE plugins.
But I too know CW's history and know how they are strugling to regain a decent foodhold, in order to actually be able to answer these questions. So at the moment I'm holding my breath, crosing my fingers and getting by with what I have at the moment.
And now that all this has been said, I have invested 1000€ in CW hardware and software within the last 6 months....

ABS? Noch?
ASB and Noah's manuals are available from Creamware's website, and document what you're after.

You know, I've been wanting to know the same thing! I have my eyes looking at getting a PulsarXTC or even better, SRB, to upgrade my DSP power. I've also been thinking of buying another plugin - but I'm not sure whether that would be a smart choice. I know that sometime in late 2006 or 2007 I want to change out my motherboard and CPU for something top-of-the-line - but will my investment in the Scope upgrades become useless? Should I wait for a PCI-Express/etc creamware board that would (i certainly hope) be compatible with my current Scope Project (Pulsar2)?? Very confusing. I would not like to live without Scope in the future - it's integral to my music-making and sound-design.
When I made the big investment (for me) buying a Pulsar II+ I assumed it would be like buying a piece of music hardware... those can last you a decade or much more.
