Maybe this is why I can't get my USB joystick to work as a midi controller - so I would need to use MidiOX too?

Funny because other software I have that uotputs to midi (eg Sounder) works fine with just a Scope midi source in the project.

Scope can only see its own physical MIDI ports. Any other MIDI interface (including USB MIDI controllers) needs to be routed to Scope via software and the Seq MIDI Source/Dest modules. Most people do this via a sequencing app, but if you don't run one you can use MIDI-OX, Bidule etc.

I see - I can't see how you would do this in Bidule and would prefer not to have to install any additional drivers like MidiOx unless they are 100% stable with Creamware systems. Is anyone using a USB joystick with Scope succesfully?

It's not a case of drivers... it's just routing MIDI around. Do you use a sequencing host? If so, you can use that. However I've never tried using a joystick for MIDI... I would think you need a specialized app for that to change the joystick signals into some meaningful MIDI messages.

Well I've been trying to use this - which I guess is what you'd call a "specialised app" but I can't get it to work with Scope.

It looks like it should work but I get no movement in XY pads like Vectron's which is mainly what I want it for.

Kymeia, if you haven't done yet you might want to check <a href=http://www.planetz.com/forums/viewtopic ... um=5&5>the thread about CrusherX</a> with the focus on midi controller handling
it even supports a force-feedback joystick, which means you can actually feel the waves
you get pretty far with the demo alone regarding midi controllers - when it times out with the nag screen just activate 'start procesing' (or whatever it's called) again for another round.

cheers, Tom

Sounds nifty. I think I have a force feedback joystick at work somewhere, gonna give it a try.

Kymeia - that Vellocet app is oooooollld. I'm sure there are more recent apps which can do this stuff, perhaps even VST. In fact there may be a thread at Planet Z about it somewhere.
