Greetings Experts

I want to multichannel-record my live-solo work

It is all synths and FX + a direct feed from electic vibes - requires about (8-12) inputs, and I need to have AUX/FX Send, Volume and MUTE capabilities per channel.

Originally I was thinking the easiest and best way to record this stuff was to get an all-in-one box like Korg/Akai, etc as again this is all live - no overdubbing.

However upon learning more about Scope, I want to investigate those possibilities first (since I already own it!). If I went SCOPe route - obviously I need gain on the synths if they are plugged directly into the ADC. I presume that gain can be added in a SCOPE mixer = is that correct?

I am also assuming that the various aux/VU/mute can be accessed via MIDI controller to SCOPe- true?

Where I am lost in this is how to route audio to a physical output in SCOPE - which mixer to use for that?

Thanks in advance, I appreciate all input

best

Yep, no problem doing that in Scope. You could definitely do it with the bigger mixers (STM2448 or 4896,) since they have direct outs, external Aux gimmicking, mute/solo, gain, etc. One of the smaller could also do the trick.

As for recording proper, you could do it in Scope with something like VDAT, or send it to any multichannel recording application you want thru ASIO.

thanks sym

sorry to be dense - but I am in this area:

Assigning MIDI controllers within the mixer

I notice that MUTE is assignable! That is too cool as most every DAW app relies on HUI protocol for that function.

Where I am falling short is how to specify SCOPE as a Device. I have no problem routing to SCOPE synths...clueless on routing to SCOPE mixer.

I am on a mac using OMS..
but I assume the general method is true regardless of platform.

I welcome all input, pun OK.

thanks!

Simply connect the MIDI Source to the mixer, set the mixer to the channel you're transmitting on, and wiggle the remote control before/after you right-click the control to automate. Then click +, to set the controller for that function. This goes for (almost) the whole of SFP.
You can save the MIDI controller assignments with the device, see its MIDI Controller folder in the Preset list. The controller is also saved with the project, and this takes priority.

You can automate anything, except the mixers' built-in eq and compressor, and some more. You will also soon notice that CW allows to set one channel per device, sometimes limiting for larger devices like STM2448.
