Hi Music Manic,

the SpEQtrum uses a liitle more of half of a dsp, if all bands are activated. It uses about one dsp more if the spectrum analyzer is activated in high resolution mode.
Usually you don't use all bands and only activate the analyzer for a moment, which results in most cases in about a quarter or less dsp usage. For even less dsp usage you can replace it with the 8BandEQ (after you finished your adjustments), which can read the preset list of spEQtrum.
The 8BandEQ (mono/stereo) is part of the package

I can send you a demo, if you want to check it out deeper.

kind regards
Wolfgang

Hey Wolf very DSP intensive as I thought.
Couple of niggles(Spectrum) in Hi-Res mode:
1)When double clicking band there is a glitch
in audio.
2)Would like display to show I/O when EQ is applied rather than having to activate it.This makes it very tedious.

Matrix also glitches when changing presets and can cause DSP errors.
Nice devices though.

Thanks

As said, this depends on what you have acitvated. The EQ itself doesn't use that much, but the analyzer.

yes, by activating a band, the audio stream is shortly disrupted, because
a) the eq circuit in question will be loaded onto dsp and
b) it is switched into the audio stream.
If a) happens later than b), you'll hear a glitch. Making this click disappear would need more dsp (i.e. a delay for b) ), so I kept it like it is.
This can happen with low res mode as well.
2)Would like display to show I/O when EQ is applied rather than having to activate it.This makes it very tedious.
I'm not shure, if I understand you correct here. Do you mean to activate the analyzer as soon as a band is activated ?
Matrix also glitches when changing presets
This has the same cause as above (dsp loading, new internal routing). The MatrixDelay is even more showing this behaviour, as there are up to 600 new connections set by changing a preset due to the complex internal routing possibilities.
and can cause DSP errors.
wups, this should not happen !
Which kind of errors are these and can you please send me steps to reproduce these errors ? Thanks in advance.
Nice devices though.
Thanks, I hope they are as usefull for you as they are for me !

kind regards
Wolfgang

Matrix can cause DSP errors.
ahh, found the culprit .. there are two presets (called "insert" and "vocals") in the delivered preset list, which where made with a beta version (and therefor trigger some unexpected results).
Just delete those two presets and the error alert should never appear again. Sorry for the hassle !

No,would like to see the input graph and output graph at same time to see how much EQ is being applied.
Maybe a Peak graph would be useful. For example, having red for showing input EQ and yellow for output(applied EQ).
Hope that makes it clear.
Matrix delay delicious.

No, I would like to see the input graph and output at the same time
I see .. this would need twice as much dsp usage for the analyzer part because showing two different curves at the same time needs two analyzers and not one, which switches between pre/post like it is now.
I could do this, but are you shure it is worth the dsp usage ?
Matrix delay delicious.
thanks

speqtrum is so usefull
why not now only the analyzer part(not the eq)with an on/off button(dsp usage) for use sometimes for check the global mix in sfp

yes, this is planned.
Until delivery you can switch off the eq bands. This way spEQtrum only uses slightly more dsp than a separated analyzer.

thanks & kind regards
