Hi I’m very interested in buying the SCOPE project system , as I want a dsp based quality system with synths effect and a sampler, but I would like to know from the SCOPE project users if they have any problems with this system under XP?, I’ve heard that the sts5000 sampler has phases problems? which is a big put off for me if it dose as I mainly use samples, I’m currently working with kontakt which is ok , I was going to go back to hardware samplers & synths but then came across the SCOPE project last week, it is real worth me getting? Or will I run into to many problems?

buy it.

if it is properly set up, scope is VERY problem free, as far as computers go anyway. it is an excellent value both for the devices and the sound quality. if you have problems, you can find help here, no problem.

as to the phase problems, these are not showstopping and they are not a problem to everyone. it really depends on how you are using it. it is not like kontact, sts is more like a traditional hardware sampler. for everyone who hates it, there is another who finds it to be the favorite sampler.

there is no other product that will do as much for you imho. most people find scope to be the key piece of gear in their studio, even though they only scratch the surface of the many possibilities.

Thanks for the info garyb, I'm going to try and find out as much info as I can, as I've only come across this company & the scope system in the last week, so it's all new to me

Buy it. I haven't scratched the surface of the possibilities. The effects, synthesisers and routing make it a wonderful system. The sound quality will be as good .... (edit: no, actually better) than you are..... it's serious gear.

Also check the forums re: sequencer/recording to see if what you have will get the most from the system.

Thanks for your comment emzee, my PC spec is just right for the CW cards, but i'm still not sure it's a good idear, i'm thinking of just a getting 2 Powercores a UAD and an Emu emulator x, when it comes to making music I need everything to work 80% of the time as I do a lot of remixing, and the sts5000 seams to have a few problems still

Sure, you have to do what feels right. There is a workaround to the STS 5000 phase issue...... it's on Z somewhere. I don't have STS 5000...... I plan to get it.

What I meant by your recording/sequencer is Cubase/Sonar/Acid/Ableton/ whatever. I've been using Acid but it doesn't allow all Scope functions...... and no longer suits my way of working.

Whatever you do, best wishes regardless.
