anyone compared atmogen for the pc to metasynth for the mac?

Just tried the Atmogen demo. Interesting but I don't think it's worth that amount of money.
You can load any pic you want in this app:

Load your pic, tweak the fields and listen to the ambiance. I use this a lot, by the way.
But I am certain that Atmogen's complete version has more to offer but I wonder if the price is really worth it(repeating myself, I know)
