Hi,

I'm a new user so I hope you folks are happy that this thread is in the correct place.

I have a number of hardware synths but only have one connected at present within my sfp project. My connection for this is: SEQ MIDI SOURCE1-MIDI A DEST. This works fine but if I wish to add another hardware synth do I just make another connection into the MIDI A DEST module? or is there a MIDI B DEST somewhere that I can't find?

Also if I get a MIDI interface to use more hardware synths do I need to have a graphical representation of a MIDI interface within sfp?

Like I said I am new to this forum so any help is greatly appreciated so I can further my knowledge of SFP.

Regards

Hi there,

any external device can be connected to scope, provided you have enough INs and OUTS to hook various devices. Midi is just another subject, you can use your synths to send midi messages to Scope MIDI interface, but you can't use the sounds of your synths thru Scope MIdi interface, it's not meant to work that way, don't confuse it with how Scope synths work internally thru MIDI. You may search the net to find out how midi works.

ps: you've the luna box or the A16 for that, I mean if you want to hook more than one device.

If you are not using all your MIDI Channels for one synth, You could use your first synth MIDI "Trough" port to connect the second synth that receives on different channels, so one physical MIDI output from your card can serve both the synths.

Naturally you need the way to get the Audio otputs of your synths back into your card, but this is another issue, it depends on your mixer or inputs configuration etc...

Me again,

I have a fostex VC8 with 8 ins and 8outs and routing a synth into the pulsar mixer is no problem.

Can someone please confirm that the sfp modules sequencer MIDI source 1 connected to pulsar 2 MIDI A destination are the connections used to connect an external synth so pulsar hardware will recognize it?

pulsar midi A source is the midi in cable on the whip, pulsar midi A dest is the midi out cable on the whip. Those are your physical midi i/o. The seq modules are i/o to your seq app.
