Opening it, it is nothing but a dll file, so how to install it? It wasn't very clear to me in their forum.

Is it something that fixes Windows rather than an aplication to actually play higher bit rates?

It's not just a dll. After John Cooper mentioned it for applying replay gain to files, it's become my favorite music player. It plays any file format. It's most flexible (script based): It can be very light, or bloated according to the extensions installed with it. I love the multiple playlists and the scheduler. I also use it as a light recorder.

The homepage, top left, has 3 download links, all of them .exe files, also the link. You can choose of 3 packages: lite, standard or special versions. What that means you can read on http://www.foobar2000.org/download.html
The components page has extra extensions.

Enjoy

I'm using it right now, and it's as clear as WaveLab sound... great!

Everybody should know about it in the forum, it is very FAST also, when playing massive amounts of 24bit samples, this is something I have alwyas wanted to do, but coudn't without oppening WaveLab.

Fantastic

Winamp can play 24-bit files too. Not sure about 96K, but it probably does!

Winamp has no issues with 24bit files here. You might want to assign it to a 24bit wav source/dest pair in Scope though.
(and yea Foobar2000 is great)

Is there any other than the 24bit one?
[The 16bit drivers are in none of my projects.]
