Though we have a spectrum analyzer by LHong,.. i think we still need a spectrum analyzer for Sfp4. im using sfp mixer for all my mix(don't use host mixer) thus can't study what to pull down/up. is it very hard for creamware to bring a fft spectrum analyzer for sfp4? what do you think?
thanks.
FFT Spectrum Analyzer for SFP4 :)
There's a few of them already (Anna FFT (I think that's the name at least, not home now so I can't check), 30-band analyzer, etc.), but I'd say you're still better off with a native one as the display will probably update faster.
If you use a mixer, you can simply send its Direct Outs to some WDM Wave Dest, and run a native FFT proggy there. You can also use a bus channel to get the same result.
While a FFT/Spectrum Analyzer is a great tool, you should learn to pinpoint what you need to bring up/down in a mix with your ears, not a spectrum analyzer.

I often use both my ears and a spectrum analyzer.
I use Spectrogram.

firubbi,
Look at how slow and CPU intensive that GUI is on the VU's, compared to native programs... Native is definately the way to go for graphical analyser stuff!

here's a few plugins for when you're working in your DAW:
- Free Spectrum analyzers & metering tools:
Voxengo SPAN VST:
http://www.voxengo.com/freevst/
quite nice FFT display, good for comparing & analyzing frequency content
Elemental Audio INSPECTOR:
http://www.elementalaudio.com/products/ ... index.html
Not quite as high resolution but still quite useful for freq analysis, also has peak & rms metering...
Smartelectronix Fre(a)koscope:
http://mdsp.smartelectronix.com/ffttools/
Fre(a)koscope is an FFT-based real-time spectrum analyzer featuring: lin/log/semitones/third-octave/Bark scales
- window size selection
- frequency zooming
- freeze
- peak hold
- cursor information (amplitude+frequency)
DestroyFX RMS BUDDY:
http://www.smartelectronix.com/~destroyfx/extras/
Will track RMS & Peak levels
Thanks to all expert users,
Let me explain more as follows:
We expressively do not need Spectrum Analyzer Tool for the Scope Platform. One of reason is for saving DSP power (at least 20-25% on the PulsarI/II). Especially for Scope users, the LongStudio Spectrum Analyzer is Programmed to fill up the gaps that we do not even need any host programs like VST or DX, and supports up to 16 Audio WDM channels individual capability.
In case you are using the VST/DX Host mixer (Cubase/Cakewalk/Logic) and want it is as the Plugged-in (like other VST/DX) then you can use the Wave Clone driver from third party, which expands the number of multi-client feature to any audio port in your system. The way its works like the Hubi's Loopback drivers for MIDI ports but this is used for the audio.
More detail can be found here:
http://spider.nrcde.ru/music/software/e ... clone.html
However, please note that:
<1> when you use LongStudio Spectrum Analyzer with Scope Platform without the VST/DX host, you will not need the waveclone driver, because its has built-in its functionality.
<2> The LongStudio Spectrum Analyzer is not tested with the above waveclone driver on many existing VST/DX hosts in the market, it means you will have your own risk in any circumstances. Of course we are interested to know if you knew it works or does not work on any certain hosts that you have tried.
Hope that you will find it is more useful in making good music...There will be more tools and will soon share with you!
Enjoy it,
LongStudio
