Clever moves from NI

Yesterday I´ve ordered the NI Komplete 2 to get Kontakt2, Absynth3, Reaktor4 and Battery2 for 299 EUR only. The package includes the fm7, pro 53,Vokator, Spektral Delay etc. and a bunch of sample discs.
Sounds good, or?

Well, the sword is two-edged.
Sure, to get all the new versions of absynth, kontakt, reaktor and battery for 299 or 99 EUR only (if you have more than four or seven plugs registered already), is nice.
But all synths, samplers etc. will be add to a new Komplete license.
I must be wrong if it will be alowed to update Kontakt2 to a coming Kontakt3 from your Komplete license only.

You can invest more money in an additional Care 2005 pack to get all major NI updates for free this year,though

To sum up, it is a very good deal for me to get all the new versions for 299 EUR but somehow I feel caught and gone along on the NI Komplete path.

I want to type this down to help you with your decission, possibly.

To complete the clever moves of the NI Komplete pack:
You won´t get Battery2, Kontakt2 and Absynth3 until you have registered your Komplete pack.

Well, doesn't matter what you think you are "saving", just that in fact you are still "spending". NI has always been good parting people from money

Imagine the department store is having this amazing sale. Items are 50% off but you have to buy:

1 hat
1 pair of shoes
10 pairs of underwear
6 pairs of socks
1 mink coat
1 belt
5 pants

All in a package for only $500! such a deal!

Actually the NI Boesndorfer piano tells me that my authorization is invalid every time I restore an image of my hard drive. Then I have to deactivate it and I try to activate it and it says I can't because I am not allowed to ativate the same machine twice. Last time I got it activated by using a previous code. I paid for this software so the fact that it is telling me that I am not authorized is a lie. I can tell you that I will never buy another product from them again. Keeping a backup image of my drive is a simple way for me to ensure that my registry stays clean and keeps the threat of viruses and spyware to a minimum. They tell me they don't hear of many people doing what I do (so they basically don't care about me as a customer) yet their software is the only software that I have this problem with.

NI copy protection is exceptionally tedious. It's worked moderately well for me so far, but it always seems somehow "delicate".

On the other hand there's Sonar wth it's simple password protection install-where-you-like simplicity. Beautiful

The unique quality of many of their products allows them to have such crazy copy protection because it's not like you could buy the same thing from another company. This could change if there is competition. I have to say though that after dealing with NI, the CW method is a pleasure. Ever try to call NI? Good luck getting through! If you are lucky, you can talk to someone after being on hold for 1/2 hour long distance at your expense, also they don't answer emails.

Well, I´ve never call them but I´ve got many mail transfer with them in the past, all problems or demands I had were fixed by them within a day, mostly hours or minutes.
Also I am a long user of their products and still be satisfied.
Absynth is still my favourite synth and more and more Reaktor comes out with very strong sounding synths. These products fits to me so perfect because my music is very experimental too.
Anyway, it´s sad that you´ve got such problems with NI, I feel sorry for this but never had it for my own.
Back to the Komplete pack, I can´t wait to put my hands on Reaktor 4 or Absynth3 and for me it is the best deal to get them with Komplete2. What future brings... I´ll see.

First of all, thanks to those members of “Z” who are “in the know” and emailed me to point out this latest thread.

A new NI pack containing lots of goodies?
A move to Bavaria and new studio under construction?
A new girlfriend (last we heard)
And last year it was Win XP, Cubase SX, a bigger PC and not to mention the holiday in Asia prior to the Tsunami disaster.

Such a lot of money to spend eh?
And those are only the ones you posted threads about!

Even though I have forgiven you, you may still want to do the decent thing and return the money I loaned you in January 2004 when you came to England and conned myself, my wife and friends into a free holiday. Perhaps you can even afford a bigger envelope and more expensive stamp and return the sample CD’s that you took and promised to return too (at least 5 of them).

oh and before this goes all overboard, please do the negotiating by mail, i feel sort of awkward reading personal issues on boards like these...

of course, words of warning about bad sellers etc is ofcourse welcome, but when it comes to personal issues please use private channels... things tend to get out of hand otherwise.

just my point of view, not nececarily everybodys.

I jumped in on an introductory offer nearly two years ago before it was called Komplete. Ten NI products limited to the first 100 customers. That was the quickest I ever decided to spend €1,000 - about ten minutes. I've paid for one or two upgrades but it's pricey to keep it all up to date so have let things slip a bit.

Unfortunately the Care packages seem to be for Komplete only. I still think it was a great buy.
