Hiya, Can anyone know of any good tutorials for getting Luna 2496 with Scope 4 running smoothly with logic? Surely it exists...

Im getting endless 'Error while trying to synchronize audio and midi. Check for conflict between Logic Platinum and external device' problems. Sample rate is set up crrectly and all...
Im running a decent system that has had no probs before recording an entire band album with my old 2 in 2 out. Now playing back a single audio track is proving a difficulty. Thanks heaps, Andy

no troubles or extra measures needed here...did you edit your project for the correct number and type of asio ports and choose asio scope divers in logic, or are you using asio mme drivers? you should be using the asio scope driver(i use asio2 24bit).

Also avoid using MMC/Timecode if you don't need it (check your sync settings). Midi clock should be adequate, and where it isn't there are workarounds inside of SFP / Modular.

Did you try setting Logic to a higher priority (Above Normal or High, altho High can be a little unstable at times) and optionally SFP to a lower priority?

Howdy crew, thanks for the words of advice so far. Ive got a weeks holiday so have been digging into the manuel determined to get this bastard working after spendin the bucks! Sadly nothing has helped.
Recapping: Im aim to get multitrack audio recording via in logic. (Im having no probs at all doing this in good old Adobe Aution, sadly that is only for recording audio.)

No doubt the mtc clock (which I tried switching off with no change) and priority tips are are gonna help fine tune but at the moment my probs are getting the thing configured to run properly.
<img src="http://home.iprimus.com.au/idle/luna1.jpg">
So, Ive set up my Scope project with ASIO 1-16 source 64 (and dest) driver and have set logic to ASIO scope (strangly there is no clock source option, could this be causing the prob?)
<img src="http://home.iprimus.com.au/idle/logic1.jpg">

"ASIO hardware not found (-1000)" comes up when I either boot Logic with ASIO scope set as audio driver or change to ASIO it once in Logic.

I have another (non SCOPE) ASIO driver on here that Logic detects but when I hit record it Logic just comes up with "ASIO: Hardware is malfunctioning (-999)"

My settings in Scope and logic are set acordingly both for recording 16bit 44.1khz. Ive dug into a lot of the relevant setup info in the scope manuel and have almost exhausted my options.

Logic doesn't support the 64 channel ASIO. Choose ASIO2 16 or 24 bit.

-Your card should be set to 'master' in sync options

-Logic needs sync setting to make it internal sync in sync settings (mtc off)

The 2 settings are different - one is for audio and the second for midi but together they work for you.

- Have changed to 'ASIO2 16 source' and 'ASIO2 dest' (not sure what Im supposed to connect clk to).
<img src="http://home.iprimus.com.au/idle/luna2.jpg">
- Luna card is set to 'master' in its sync options.
- Logic - sync settings (mtc is off).
= NO CHANGE
<img src="http://home.iprimus.com.au/idle/synch1.jpg"><img src="http://home.iprimus.com.au/idle/synch3.jpg">
<img src="http://home.iprimus.com.au/idle/synch2.jpg">
- Im running my MIDI through a USB based M-AUDIO midisport 4x4
Any help?
------

Still at the top of my probs is "ASIO: hardware not found (-1000)" message. Till I crack this, fixing the synch thing is kinda redundant. Will give more info and hope somone can help suss this out.
'Clock Source' underneath the 'ASIO scope' setting is blank, furthermore clicking on control panel box doesnt do anything when you click it. Isnt this a bit odd? Is there something I may have missed re the driver installation maybe?

I will be sure to reward whoever helps me crack this. Not sure what with, but mark my words I will!

choose cw hardware for clock source....

Clock source must be set to (sync to CW DSP hardware)

If you can not get this happening I suggest you remove logic and reinstall it again

is scope set to master in the samplerate settings(on the scope live bar: set/samplerate)? did you open your scope project FIRST and set up your asio and midi modules BEFORE opening logic? the asio modules must be in your project set to the proper number of i/o first or things won't work. if you change them(number of channels or type, you can change connections anytime), logic must be reinitialized by going back to the audio prefs and deselecting asio and then reselecting asio then following the prompt to reset.

Note that in the logic AudioDriver2 page under ASIO settings you have enabled 20/24 bit recording but you have 16bit ASIO2 drivers loaded in your SFP project. 24bit recording and mixing is recommended (you can dither to 16 bits later) so I suggest trying the 24bit ASIO2 drivers in scope instead (24bit ASIO2 destination & source).

In regards to the 'ASIO hardware not found' message, have you tried using another application with Scope's ASIO driver? A standalone softsynth or even a free/demo download of something, just to make sure that there isn't a registry issue. Win2000 & XP have a '10 device limit' and sometimes you can exceed this, or alternatively some of the registry cleaners (including microsoft's RegClean.exe) will remove the ASIO driver references from your registry.

Following Garyb's words
-----------------------
- Scope is set to master in the samplerate settings.

- Scope project is set up and open with asio and midi modules before opening logic.

- Regarding 'proper number of asio i/o's' - 4 in and 4 out would be correct for 2 audio channels in Logic ya? L1,R1,L2,R2...

Following Valis' words
-----------------------
I noticed the 'enabled 20/24 bit recording' tick after I posted that pick. Changing it has had no effect.

I have tried running Native Instruments: Absyth, Guitar Rig and FM7. None of these are detecting the Scope ASIO only this other Wuschell ASIO4all thing I have on here. - I have just uninstalled this Wuschell ASIO driver but it hasnt changed anything.

I now have no doubt there is a problem with the Scope driver installation. CW is not available in clock source, nothing is. Whats more, in the main window there is no channel select available. Try selecting and you only option is 'off'.
<img src="http://home.iprimus.com.au/idle/logic3.jpg">
Things look fine here...
<img src="http://home.iprimus.com.au/idle/scope.jpg">
but this is the actual hardware. How do I get to check the specifics of the ASIO scope driver install? OR if thats to messy.

Do I take EVERYTHING Creamware and Logic related off and install it all from scratch?

Thanks for the continual help guys, getting closer to cracking it!

Hmm, if you run Registry cleaning programs of some sort, they tend to eat the ASIO registry keys away. Try re-installing the drivers, worst case the whole SFP gammut (just re-install over your current installation, backup some files first like scope.rgy and cset.ini etc.)

yes, reinstall of everything from scratch(after formatting) is often a "fixall" if it's done properly.......
