my humble studio is currently in posession of a sak 2k. anyone here have experience using this controller with Scope?
From what i figure i shouldn't use the USB connection, rather the standard midi connection. Seeing it has a preset for "Pulsar" im kinda looking forward to using it.
If anyone have experience with this controller id appreciate some feedback.
anyone using a sac 2k in their scope setup?
SAC 2K won't work with SFP via USB, only MIDI over channel 16. I use the SAC 2K in Sonar and Cubase and I love it. For Pulsar it's OK but the modules supported outside of SFP mixers are ones that I don't use.
For SFP I picked up a second-hand Yamaha OV1, added ADAT I/O to it and use it as a front-end into SFP. The mic-pres, and effects are very useable. I also set it up to control the faders, solo, mutes, etc., on the SFP mixer via MIDI and that works out nicely. You can even automate the SFP mixer from your sequencer if you like and watch the faders move and lights blink on and off! You won't get much more out of the SAC 2K in SFP unless you use the supported modules but for Sonar or Cubase ar using standalone modules that the SAC 2K supports - I think it's the best controller out there - especially if you can pick one up on e-bay; I've seen them for as little as $500. (I paid $1500 new and I don't regret it). Get the latest drivers and ROM updates from the radikaltechnologies.com site. Hope this helps.

hi, and thanks for the reply, ronnie! btw, i guess, from the sac presets i should use the Houston preset to control steinberg stuff?
still havent had the chance to try it out much yet, but it looks like i'm mainly going to use it for sequencer control.
Reason i have this equipment without knowing too much about it is that a friend has temporarily donated a lot of stuff for our studio while he is away. if it behaves as good as i hope i will probarly check out ebay etc to get one.
thanks again.
