I know the steinberg line is that this won't run.......but will it? Anybody tried it?

If impossible - which of XP or 2000 is better?

That 'XP required' is a marketing trick I think. They released a Win98 version/patch later.

Where can I find it? On Steinberg sites I see always: System requirements: win2k or xp.
