Hi , since i use Scope 4.0 i am unable to use the SampleOsc in modularII and III.
It won't load anything! Not even a partial from the partialpool. I've been trying to find any info on this subject and found only one post that didn't realy help.

Older patches including the SampleOsc don't work no more (they did in SFP3.1)

Anyone else got this problem ??
greetings,
Casper

Hi there

Are you using this version:

http://www.planetz.com/forums/viewtopic ... 44&forum=3

...of the Sample Osc module?

(Unless that was the post you refer to..?)

I don't know if this will solve your problem, but it you're not using that version, it might be worth giving it a go.

Thanks, but this one gives the same problem. (and you lose wav support)
It's realy strange because in SFP3.1 everything was fine...

I also tryed that version of SampleOsc...

Ah, bummer. I haven't (yet) installed v.4 so can't comment any further...

Aha - one more thought - did you download and install the v.4 Modular .zip file(s)?

CWA's site points out that you can leave the 3.1c install of the Modular alone with v.4 of SFP, so:

if you installed v.4 modular, try removing this and using the 3.1c version

or

if you didn't install the v.4 modular, try doing so.

I just tried my 3.1SFP installation and here it still works. I deleted the 4.0 modular install and copied all stuff concerning 3.1 modularII and III tot the Sfp4.0 dir. And guess what. Same effect with the 3.1modular version in the 4.0 scope envirement.

Is there anyone among you who has a working SampleOsc(modularII/III) under scope 4.0 ??

it could be that a certain file path is required for the samples to load - and this possibly wasn't updated accordingly.
Something similiar happened with the Modular 'modules' directory when upgrading to ModIII.

I never understood in WHICH setting of SFP such stuff is recorded (the registry, cset.ini, the preferences dialog, etc.) - it's rather messy and confusing (I have directory entries in cset.ini with slashes in both directions, the Win and Unix style, on the same line  )

cheers, Tom

I have checked all ini files. There are no registery entries , otherwise my old sfp3.1 shouldn't be working, but it does.
It must be something within sfp.40 itself.
I tried all older devices and modules. Reinstalled sfp4.0 for somewhat 20 times.
New Xp installation! Suggestions anyone?

Have you tried using the sample pool?.....there's a freestanding pool you can load samples into, and as long as it's sitting on the project page, Mod synth sees the correct path to the samples.....
I think there's one that comes with John Bowen's Ambient, or you might find it at Modular Corner........
If you have problems I can post it here.

Yes, i tried dragging samples from the samplepool to the sampleosc . Still says "cannot load ...." But my question to you is : Are you running a working sampleosc under scope 4.0 ?

Anything would help i'm running out of options..

Could you mail me the SampleOsc module ?
I could try it just to rule things out.

Maybe a bit offtopic.
Once, I´ve build a modular with four sample OSC, everything works fine until I saved some presets with different smaples in each preset.

When I reload the patch and switched through the presets, the samples didnßt load correct, better say say didn´t change with the the different presets.

I am still using 3.1c with Mod3, tried all sample pools. Has that changed with SFP 4.0?

For what i know , they didn't change anything in 4.0 . Almost every file you find in the sfp4.0 dir is the same as in 3.1c .
But i still have my 3.1c install. It still runs fine including the sampleosc.

It's a pickle , no doubt about that!

Could it be a change to a .dsp file perhaps?

Casper,
I don't think it can be the Sample Osc's fault....it works fine in my system.
How did you install Mod ?

I just copy the modular2 and 3 devices and modules to the sfp4.0 dir. So these are my directories:

F:SFP4.0Modular2 Modules
F:SFP4.0Modular III Modules
F:SFP4.0DevicesModular2
F:SFP4.0DevicesModular III

That should be ok. Is it ?

Well Creamware were advising using the new download.......I know all the files look the same, but maybe there's some hidden modification ?......
I used the new files, then just replaced the sample osc module with the one I posted here (see above)
BTW you can put all modules together as long as you take note of this.....

After putting all my mod 2 & III modules in one folder I couldn't get the dropdown menus to appear until I renamed the folder EXACTLY as it comes in the Mod 2 download ie. 'Modular2 Modules', no matter what I tried in Cset.ini.
I noticed a similar thing with all the SFP Manual files....they wouldn't appear in the live bar until I put them in a folder called english.........

PS check your PMs
