Arturia finally came out with v2 of the MMV. I don't have time to try it out now, but I thought I'd get the thread going. I'm anxious to see if it sounds as good as MiniMax. (Probably not, but you never know.)

Well for me I decided I dont care,
I have come to the realization the Minimax is just the "ALL" synth, it seems with a small out of tweaking and additional effects the Minimax can do and sound like just about anything you want it, that also includes complex sounding synthesis with the right chain of effects. I used to wonder how some of these VSTi's used to achieve such lush and intricate sounding patches and it all just seems to boil down to effect chaining within the device, hence using the Minimax with the right combination of effects produces the same results as the VSTi's but with a much higher quality sound.
In the end, I am a very happy Minimax owner
Cheers!

Don't want to be a no-brainer, but can you tweak it to sound like: piano, organ, choir, string section, flute... any of these? On 2004-08-25 23:01, Basic Pitch wrote:

I'll try the demo to hear the new modules, the realistic GUI is totally unusable for me : I can't see the values of the knobs at a glance !!!
It would be GREAT to have this one board but I fear something like one voice for 6 DSPs so we'll have to wait and when I see around 300 DL at most in the modular patch section there not be a huge market except if the thing is delivered with a huge pile of quality presets.
" Our " Celmo is doing some BTW ...
Basic Pitch, this is the modular : way more sonic range !
I read on a mag that the Minimoog was in fact made by Bob's employees " behind his back " to make something viable economically ( is this true ?? )
