Interesting...

What have you used it for, Cannonball? I know it's a "mastering compressor" but the soft knee option makes it sound like it would be useful as a bus compressor too and also on guitar / bass / vox tracks. Is it heavy on DSP?

Is anyone else using it?

$69 / year seems a steal for all those plugins. But I really can't believe that a lifetime membership is only $199. I feel guilty just thinking about it, but man it's so tempting... Gotta get me another credit card.

Cheers,

Johann

appearantly it is - feeding a mono signal to both inputs of the stereo version doesn't produce (noticable) artifacts.

big compliment to Craig and the team at Timeworks - the key arrived an hour or so after I requested it

But of course the DADEV offer is a no-brainer from the financial point of view.
Dunno if it's working in the long term, though - I'm really not shure if there's a 'cheapo-market' for Scope.

cheers, Tom

I can't help thinking, that AndreD is asking if the DaDev Comp is fase coherent, and Tom answers talking about the Sonic Timeworks Comp?
Can anyone verify/falsify this?

well, it's easy to answer
Andre mentioned ... that was a problem, some time ago..., so he probably doesn't refer to Nikko's brand new comp - and the Timeworks phase problems were much discussed some time back.

I had completely forgotten about the issue, so at least it would have been better for me to ask STW before actually ordering

Since all these devices are somewhat specialized, a very good thing imho, I wanted to complete the picture and in no way distract from the original topic.

I've really been considering this 1 year thing at DaDev, but something tells me there may not be any updates in the next year...The Mastercomp seems cool, although the beep in the demo really hurts my ears! VTube also sounds pretty nice, but the Dry knob does nothing! Also there are some horrible phase problems with it, and also with the Multicomp. If it weren't for these bugs I think I would definately get the bundle. I love vari-mu compressors like the Manleys and Fairchilds. One other thing I noticed is that the Mastercomp is hard to adjust precisely, the attack and release have huge ranges that seem tough to tweak in small amounts.

honestly, even if half of the stuff would be totally buggy (which it definetely isn't) for 69 Euro you can't go wrong.
It doesn't tell the devices expire after one year...

Cannonball, how much gain reduction are you typically pushing the Mastercomp? I've found it much easier to tweak so far for submixes and individual tracks than on the master buss, so I'm just looking for a few tips really...

hi
the mastercomp a23st load less the one dsp
(if i understood well how read the dsp meter  however like vinko and like(less) the andreD 1.7 multiband comp)
the attack knob must be insert manually for some small amounts(same problem of other devices like the compx from timeworks)the recovery(or realese)knob function is more detailed.
about gain reduction i need more time to
see i can say about the final rms peak (see in the wavelab peak meter a week ago) and is much better than L2(waves) mastercompSTW and sound better to me (others friends have the same results).
About updates and devices seem all the major developper (orbitone impressor/stw bundle/spl transient and attacker/creamware devices itself)haven't made a final version without bug at all(more or less important).
Maybe the sdk or dpkit,i havent understood the right name, have some bug itself????

Does anyone know this for sure? Can I still use the plugins after one-year (but not get any free updates)?

These look neat - has anyone tried the DADEV synth Analogy? And the reverb loks nice but I was wondering if it would make more sense to combine the technologies used in the Goldverb and the room simulator to make something like the UAD Dreamverb that models rooms and physical spaces including materials etc.

So you get all these for $199 for life - what happens if the site goes bust then?

wrong - you'll get all these for 69 Euro for life
199 Euro means you're entitled to download (and use) all devices that Nikko will ever develope...

cheers, Tom

Unfortunately the lifetime membership option doesn't seem to work right now. I get "Period must be in interval 1-5 years." Not sure if Nikko is aware of the problem yet.

Oh well, I went for the yearly membership instead. Still a fantastic deal!
