Hello!

I am a complete novice in Modular, so please treat my questions with sympathy!

The question: how could I crossfade between 3 signals by using ONLY ONE controller or modular fader?
Lets say, that I ve got 3 signals: A, B and C, and a single fader (or midi controller).
At position 0, I want only signal A. Moving the fader towards 64(the middle) signals A & B crossfade. Moving it further to the right at position 127, signals B&C crossfade and only signal C is left.

slider position: 0.................64..............127
signals present:A-crossfade- B-crossfade- C

Could you explain me why could I do it? Or better post me a mod patch thats does it?

Thank you very much!

i had a bit of a go, connecting a constant val bipolar to a quad crossfade, but not quite the thing.

you need a hardcore modhead!

of the top of my head
A = const. value bipolar > half wave rectifier
B = const. val. bipolar > full wave rectifier > half inverter
C = const. value bipolar > inverter > half wave rectifier

or something like that
just because you cannot imagine something that doesn't exclude it from reality.

what i did was to load an 8-8 io shell with those two modules, then connect the constant val to xmod & ymod and fiddle with the knobs.

i'm very newbie to this, but i reckon it's a good idea you had

somebody will enlighten us

edit- there we go! whip over to the patch pages
