And if its possible to upgrade from the John Bowen version.

I think there's some small differences in the filter, but nothing huge. John himself said they "improved" it some. I know the preset lists are not compatible between the two as well.
At one time Creamware had sent out a email to registered users (which I never got myself) about a upgrade to their version, but I don't know if this is still valid or not - this was many months ago when Pro-One was just released. I'm not sure what the price was.
