Cant remember what synth did this but, if any one else can t

Hi all,

I am going to try and explain this in a way as best as I can since I am at a loss for the correct words, but...

Some where in my testing of various CW synths, be it maybe 3rd part or CW built, there was a synth where a sound source can "modulate" the synth if that makes any sense, EG: Run from an audio track a drum loop into an input on the synth from the routing window, now with in the synth play a solo note or chord while the track is running and the audio source being routed into the synth and the synth material would some how take the wave shape of the drum track.

I wish I could better describe this but I hope what I have said makes some form of sense, its been a long day hehe.

If there is any other questions I could answer to help give a better understanding of what I am trying to explain by all means let me know

Sounds like a vocoder (under effects). Except the vocoder that is supplied with SFP3.1 doesnt include a built-in synth, you have to provide one. But their higher-end model (the vocodizer) as well as Orbitone's Vorb (awesome sound!), have built-in synthesisers.

yep, vocoder 3 or vocodiser do this well - i've used this technique and it makes me start giving everything the envelope of something else

I believe someone made a modular one, as well.
