I wrote in another thread about my problems with PCI overflow and "no more STDM connections" with pulsar1+luna+pulsar SRB.
I tried to switch from ASIO 2 drivers to "ASIO 1", labelled just "ASIO 24 bit source" and "ASIO 24 bit dest".
i noticed that the mentioned two problems disappeared (altought i did very few tests)

now i ask: what the hell is the difference between "nomal asio" and asio2?? i use sonar 2.2 and some DXi and VST wrapped (both synths and effects). i tried with garritan personal orchestra and with kontakt, but at a first glance i didnt noticed problems.

The differences that I know of, are:
ASIO2 can sync to wordclock and it does Direct Monitoring, both not implemented in ASIO(1).

There's a longer topic on the subject from not so long ago...
