Has anyone one pulsar card and two computers connected together???(One computer for sequencer and other for Vst's or effects if it is possible?
If not which sound card is most compatible with pulsar (i don't want to buy another pulsar because it is to expensive)?
Are 1gb lan cards good solution?
Please for detailed information how to do that (v-stack or something else?)???
I make dance music so there is no need for many audio recordings.....on Cubase SX1 rewired with Reason in XTC mode.
thanx
More computer more power
to run the sequencer on a machine with a (say) RME board and route 16 channels via Adat is said to be a pretty reliable solution, though the RME isn't exactly cheapo
The Pulsar could sit in a rather humble machine that way.
I'd consider this more straightforward (and reliable) than a LAN driven system.
cheers, Tom

running 3 pulsars, ableton live and cubase 5 on this 'old' G3 mac, connected to the pc laptop (with albeton, SX and RME) through adat...
mmmmmmmmmmmmm
best of a lot of worlds
i know atomic is running a 21 DSP desktop as main system, connected to his laptop for this telefx thing. seemed mighty impressive to me, too.
we had a session once with d4rkr3zin, at0mic and me. one desktop (atomic's) and three laptops (one with magma/pulsar, mine with RME, and atomics for VST fx (over LAN if i remember well)). greatgreatgreat. as it was only a one afternoon jam, we didn't get that deep, but it all worked just fine. everything was linked nicely together through adat. everything synced by running a pulse in ableton live, sending it to the other computers over adat, which had modulars (with flexor ramp) running in SFP.

maybe atomic, michu or d4rkr3zin can be a bit more technical, but even for me it seemed quite straightforward
edit: oh yeah, michu was doing bass and dope delay. that is, when he wasn't rolling a fat one for willy!

I run 21 DSP's (SRB and Pulsar II) in an old Dell PIII 800mhz that I bought off ebay for 200 bucks. I lightpipe it into my Mac running Logic for all my recording, sequencing, etc.
Have a KVM switch....so ONE keyboard, ONE mouse, ONE monitor.......TWO systems. A simple key combination switches back and forth between the two.
Works great, and is very flexible and stable.
Cheers
