Sync plate - any audible improvement?
Have anybody experienced any audible improvements when adding a sync plate - as opposed to syncing via ADAT?

One obvious difference after syncing all my sources to Lucid external clock was that I got rid of any clicks and pops which where mostly noticeable on ADAT inputs from Korg Oasys in my second PC when used as aux delay fx. I believe I can hear a difference in the converter performance as well, but this is more subjective.

I thought the Sync plate was for controlling start/stop on ADAT machines?

one of word clock's main purposes is to regulate when the snapshots or samples of incoming audio are taken(A/D conversion). Many say that having an external unit controlling this improves the quality of A/D conversion. When your computer is the master it tends to fluctuate more than an outboard master device since it is multitasking. These fluctuations are known as jitter. I haven't tried it with the A16 but I will one day.
