Hi
I have been playing with XTC and SX2 recently and it seems to work, but what is the point of it if not all devices work under XTC?
I think I have said this before (and probably others) If Creamware got their act together get the software right and sold their products properly...they could be massive.

I think CW is very happy with your insightful advice to "just get their software right". I'm sure they never thought of that
Keep in mind though that CW is only a small company with limited resources. XTC mode obviously isn't really top of their list at the moment, but I'm sure it will be improved with newer versions of SFP.

I would love to see SFP and XTC modes combined. There doesn't seem to be any fundamental difference between them since you can edit your XTC project just like a regular project.
It would be cool if you could select and automate XTC synths and effects AND be able to load modular in SFP like normal.
Dunno if it's feasible I'm pretty ignorant really.

Hi
I own a very small company and we write software for our products and I believe it is more important to get it right when you are small company. Your customer base is much smaller. You cannot rely on massive advertising budgets, so you product must be right. It's that simple, otherwise you get a bad name. We as a company would not have dared to release what creamware released in the past, 3.1c should have been their first release. I'm not saying I could do it better necessarily, but you must get your core products right. How long ago was the last update? They are so close to getting it right.
When ever I mention that I use Creamware cards to other musicians they percieve them to be unreliable, my local shop said the same.
I kind of got into creamware cards by accident, I got a Elektra secondhand, now I have a PulsarII and I/O box but am glad I did.
I don't mean this post a 'lets get Creamware' post. With a businessman's head on, I can see Creamware still have a great future, just get it right. Hopefully that is why no updates for over a year.

That's worth knowing. I'll try it.On 2003-12-10 05:29, spacef wrote:
you can have ANY effect of SFP work in XTC by loading them in the MultiFX-M or S.

Would a similar 'wrapper' be feasible for synths? I'm thinking about all those freebies, 3rd party, etc. that aren't compliant?
(Ideally, something like MultiFX with the first slot for a synth and a few others for effects. And a preset that stores all the synth and effect settings in one.)

I have always understood XTC as a gift from Creamwear to its costumers, but that's it... Anything they do for us, we take it for granted and believe it is our RIGHT to own it... Well, it is not! In fact, I think they have been doing a real lot of things for the platform, what more can you possibly ask?
I know what I'm saying is agains myself, cos I can't afford to buy anything and will probably not be able for long time to come... but upgrades have been free for an extremely long time already?
We need to understand it, it is unfair to be so exigent... just my thought.

Hi
I have just noticed a letter about the Creamware review in Sound on Sound this month. It puts across the view that Creamware products are not as reliable as their review said. To be fair to SoS that do back up their claims.
This illustrates my point exactly. The general view is that Creamware products are unreliable. Creamware must address this point.
Nestor, I am a little confused that XTC was a gift.... I have spent well over 1000GBP on Creamware products, the Optimaster was the only gift I received... but a great one!
I have just updated my Zarg synths to XTC and about to try XTC mode to record. The only XTC omission now I have is the Vorb which is SFP only.
I'll shut up now... I think I have answered my own post... as XTC mode may do most things I want it to do.
