hello everyone.
since i have only one card (pulsar2) and the
power of dsp is limited i allways try to find way to save it.
im shure that some of you noticed of that but some of you may not
the pink big mixer use a very minimal dsp power compare to the stm1632 that i usualy use for my project it also have an eq on
i think i'll start to use it more .

another thing(s) ,
is ther a manual for that mixer ?
does this eq is a quality one like the PEQ 4s
that came with rhe pacage of the card ?

cheers
Omb

The pink big mixer? What are you talking about? There is (or was) something called the big mixer but it is primarily blue in color.

I still use my "blue" big mixer a lot and I'm pretty sure I have the user doc for it. What do you need to know about it?

The Big Pink Mixer is a visually modded Big Mixer. I think it was some leads, that are Pink instead of (insert original color name).

The same as any INV(ert) button on a mixer. It makes the positive part of the waveform negative and makes the negative part positive. It is mostly handy when you have more microphones on one source, because inverting the signal of one of them make the out of phase frequensies in phase (and the in phase frequensies out of phase). But it can be used for uther purposes too.

I remember the BigMixer using 12mb per main and 8mb per bus panel, for the graphics.

Yes, new mixers have the phase button, so you can choose to disable it, it's a bit lighter on dsp...

good old Bug mixer, a girly compared to the STM serie.
What's more bad: a lovely girl afflicted with some annoying bugs, or a stern looking but perfect man?
That is, from a man's point of view!

the stereo-tracks in the stm mixers are always phase-coherent (unlike big-mixers)

to get the whole mixer phase-coherent makes the phase-button necesarry only...

all the best,
andre

A funny observation. However, I noted some bugs in the STM mixers too so none of them are perfect. I had some problem with EQ curves or something. Anyone else seen that problem? I've always liked the big mixer. I like the way it is laid out. It seems to have the right layout and features for the way I like to work. The 2448 is nice but it's a big honker and takes a lot of moving around to get into it. The only problem I've noted with my big mizer is the channel designations will change randomly. Like the first 8 Input channels will acquire the names from the first 8 Mix channels. Weird.

I'll try sending again but if it doesn't go through this time, I give up. I'm not 100% sure but Hotmail may not accept messages with attachments unless you have an upgraded version of Hotmail (I think there are subscription services that provide additional features).

An update: the message came back again. Sorry! For what it's worth, the Big Mixer manuals are included on the Pulsar 2.04 CD.
