I have this huge problem: When I open Logic, it hangs during the "Loading ASIO SCOPE" process and the computer completely jams -> Reboot.

I was wondering if I reinstall the ASIO drivers if this problem would go away.

FYI: Win 98se, PIII 933 512M RAM

Thanks for the help

i think that the error is caused by a corrupt file, and it may not be the obvious one.the few times i have had strange errors like this i just reinstalled(the shotgun approach) over my old install.it's pretty quick and easy, although someone,i'm sure, knows what file is really causing the flakey behavior.(probably one that is rewritten when the program is closed..)

my guess,anyway...

Yeah...Registry Healer is what I used.

I know, I know, dumb move. I did restore my registry but that did not fix anything...

Is there something else than reinstallation that could work?

I'll try. Do you suggest I reinstall starting from my Logic CD to the last upgrade(5.51) or only the upgrade?

SFP should be what needs to be reinstalled. If you do decide to reinstall logic too I'd suggest remembering to backup your Autoload & %windir%Logic 5.prf

Michu suggested that I do a driver update on my Pulsars, keeping the drivers in my present install: it worked (but I wish I understood why).

I'll keep this thread up to date if necessary.

Thanks guys for the great help(as usual)
