Hello,

Since discovering the problem was with my Pulsar card and not the PC I have been able to make music again. I have even gone back to using ACPI mode with no problems whatsoever.
I have been having a small "problem" when I launch Logic regarding an error message. It says:

"While trying to open MIDIport 'Creamware in/out 1' in function
'MidiInOpen", the error, there is no driver installed in your system
occurred.' Make sure that the MIDI interface is connected and switched on."
I get the same message with Creamware In/Out 2. Plus, I also get a similar
message but saying:
"While trying to open MIDI port "Microsoft GS Wave table SW Synth" in
function "midi OutOpen", the error "this function is not supported. Use the
capabilities function to determine which functions and messages the driver
supports," occurred.
Make sure that the MIDI interface is switched on."

I get around this problem by saying skip. But it happens every time I launch
Logic. Any idea what's going on?
I have tried the following:

Control Panel>System>Hardware>Device Manager>Sound,Video and Game Controllers>Properties on Pulsar>Change MIDI Setup number of devices to 1. But I still get the message everytime I launch Logic. I use an AMT 8 MIDI interface.

Thanks in advance for your response(s).

logic does that.it looks to the registry and tries to make contact with everything that your computer is set up to use.if you're not currently using it and logic can't make contact,it let's you know what's up.logic also at that point, offers to disable unused ports(which can be reenabled later).if you don't want logic to rearrange your computer just hit "no more warnings" and continue.

Maybe you can check the WIN.INI file (under Windows folder)
check the [Logic] line and replace all the line "=0" with "=1"
Save the file and reboot the PC.
