yesterday watched a TV feature about a Marianne Faithful performance in Paris in front of a small audience.
No playback, all live, phantastic musicians and sound. The guitar player squeezing cutting solos out of a Telecaster

a very nice effect when the group members did the background chorus through an ultra-deep lofi reverb.
They also had a young french band in the event, playing (among owns pieces) a version of 'Broken English' right in front of the composer and succeeding.
Well, it was simply a relief after all those casting show euro contest crap

So, there's still good music around, but to quote from Marianne, who was also interviewed '... always been shite in the top twenty, never been really different...'
