First of all, as I said, Kontakt doesn't work for me not only with the LARGER number of outs than 4s&4m, but with ANY OTHER, even SMALLER amount. So THIS IS NOT an Aux thing I guess.
Second and the most important: this is not a "Problem Solving" forum, so ok, let's accept that Kontakt CAN work in Logic as a multi-instrument and continue discussing the disadvantages (ok, advantages too) of these three sequencers. Ok? Anyone?

I'd assume that you've gotten in touch with NI and they can probably help you further your problems with Kontakt since they claim to have it working in this update...
And while I'd concur that this isn't a trouble-shooting forum, marcuspocus's post brought to light that I'd been experimenting with different stereo/mono configs in kontakt's options without paying any attention to logic's aux configuration. I personally find that useful in any thread regardless of parent topic. =]

But I am able to return to the topic as well...in a fashion.
Again, I have no experience with Sonar (and only slightly over a month's experience with SX now...):
1. In Logic, for some reason, cpu usage is up a considerable amount using the usb 4x4 interface I have (vs when using 4 midi chans to drive devices in the Pulsar and connected to it's port).
2. Yet in SX I see little difference between using 4 channels of midi into the pulsar and using my midisport 4x4--so it's not necessarily usb overhead in Logic's case.
1. For me Logic has always had serviceable but rather clunky audio editing features in the arrange panel (although it seems you can still do almost anything--especially if you know your key commands well enough). The waveform display when you have parts showing their data is serviceable in a rough way, but relying on it to know anything beyond the most basic information (it's louder peaks here) is a bad idea--I've learned to rely on my ears.
2. SX's editing of parts right in the arrange page (or parts in a part view) is incredibly intuitive. The fade/volume handles in SX are incredibly easy to use (although no curve type there like in logic) and the crossfade panel offers a lot of options. While Logic has taught me to use my ears when editing audio SX has clued me back in to when looking at the monitor actually helps. It seems to scroll in up to the sample level even in the Arrange view, and when I apply crossfades and edits the waveform display in the arrange seems to be a pretty accurate representation of the result of the operations. With this level of control--like in a wave editor--I've learned to often turn my head to make sure I'm listening, but when I need to find some tiny detail it's nice to know i can. Bounce an edited selection to a new track and compare at high zoom levels.
1. Sx's repeat function in the paino roll annoys me to no end. As far as I can tell it always repeats starting immediately on the next quantize location (ie, the next 16th etc) regardless of what it is you're duplicating.
2. Logic, on the other hand seems to do a good job of knowing whether you want to repeat a selection over a beat or bar etc.
Now, I don't have a ton of experience in large studios (actually none =D ) nor do I have a massive library of gear here. Today smaller project studios can be very focused on the sequencer/workstation that makes up the 'brain' of all that is going on. Yet many studios are still simply places to record and edit sound, with a sequencer or workstation on being used for a specific task or set of functions alongside many pieces of equipment and software programs--many of which are used for only one thing. A major point for people as they expand their studio is how well their choice of sequencer integrates with the rest of the hardware and software in the studio...
So if anyone has any comments to share along those lines I'd be very interested in reading them along with the current thread of this topic.
