Driver for Powerpulsar 15 DSP

I tryed to dissable all unnesscesary things, that you mentioned in other threads, but i have found only one or two which seemed unnescesary.
I have reinstaled SCOPE, but have the same error.
I will try to relocate the boards, but it seems that the powerpulsar is big enought that it only fits into the slot i gave it in.

the problem is not irq or slot order.

the reason i suggested a reinstall is that that's a quick way to install the proper drivers. you should have gotten a message showing that all the cards were recognized.

pci master abort is a serious pci error afaik.
i would think that either there's a problem with a card, or the actual slot on the motherboard. perhaps you or the previous owner touched the card's contacts with your hands. cleaning the contacts with 99% or better alcohol or a good commercial contact cleaner might help a lot.

does it work with one card but not both?
does it work fine until Cubase is opened?

I have tryed it today with the two Pulsar2 only, and everything was allright.
Tomorrow i will try to give the Powerpulsar a other slot, and clean the contacts before.

dumb question, but you're using an s/tdm cable, right?

yes i use 2 stdm cables.
I have tryed it today with other card order, and all cards where shown. I had no problems loading several BIG FX like Wolfs reverbs, and granular Flexor patches. Then i tryed to max the DSP meter and a some PCI overload occured, but it was because of many reverbs.
Everything seemed right, but after i took out 2 reverbs and wanted to load a Duking Delay v2, this shity PCI Master error occured!!
I will go and buy a fan now, because the grafic cards fan blowes directly on the powerpulsar which is about 1 millimeter apart!

Hopefully dis will stop my problems.

I have tryed all possible card orders, without luck. Cleaned contacts before.
Within minutes i get the PCI Master abort message.
I also dont think that the card is the problem, because it was new and sealed in the box.
Does anybody know if the Motherboard could be the problem?
I am really frustrated right now!
If someone has another tip for me ill be glad.
I read somewhere, that the PC should be in standart mode and not ACPI or something.
I dont know much about PCs, so if someone could conclude all things that should be done on a pc to get it optimized i will call my friend who is a PC pro to optimize it.

Have you tried using the 15dsp card alone? After using it alone try using it with only one 6 dsp card if you have'nt tried this yet . Test every pci slot as well with the previous steps. Did you do a fresh install of the software after your initial with all cards?

it could be the motherboard. what motherboard are you using? do you have another computer you can use to test?

Ok, i want to try the 15dsp alone, but i would have to install scopev3.
Could there be problems with v3 and v5.1 on the same machine?
I can try to ask friends for installing on their pc also.
I think i have posted a link to my motherboard in this tread,
at least in my profile there is the link to a tread where i aked if my motherboard is right.
Ill be at home in a few hours, and will try the 15dsp alone.

why installing v3 if you already have v5.1 ?
Just try pci cards alone, like they mentioned before.
And in my opinion it's not mobo problem , since it's scope error message, just a thought.

yes, v3 and v5 will create problems. windows will insist on using the v5(later) driver and v3 cannot use the v5 driver or vice versa. it would be better to try it in a different pc, if that's possible.

I tryed it today with one Pulsar2(with scopev5.1) and the Powerpulsar, same error when loading several devices.
I will try it on a other PC.
Will v3 get along with win7?
I hope so, cause my friends all are on win7.
I just reaaaallly hope that the card is not the problem, cause I have spent my last money for it.

Hi,
The cards were working now for a few days, i have found the right order i think, and updated the bios.
But now i have got the same error again and found out, that it seems to have its cause in a strange async error inside scope.
Can someone confirm that such a number( DSP 1/5) is some error?

I dont know what the numbers in the DSP meter mean exactly, maybe someone can find out why i have such errors, they dont occure everytime i work with SCOPE but frequently.
I am happy for every help.

I guess , that this is not the problem.
I have the same async numbers (similar) like you, and my cards works normal fully loaded.

async is traffic between the cards and the computer system. your modular patch uses computer resources as well as dsp resources.

Ah, ok thanks for your discription.
I tryed to open SCOPE in windows XP mode, and it works fine again, lets see how long.
But i belive the Async number is a problem, becouse now SCOPE runs normal and the number is 2344.
I saw also that when i opend the patch before, the async nummber grew constantely and endet in the PCI Master Abort error.
I bought a fan today also, so i hope for a problem free time....

Ok, finaly everything is fixed!
I upgraded the bios changed the card order made a few windows changes as described on http://www.hitfoundry.com/ .
I want to thank Gary once more as he was a great help more than one time, and also dante for all the great information on the abouth mentioned site, and the whole Scope community on planetz.
