Filter EQ Combo
Jo, you may have misunderstood me (since you seem to have over-reacted a little). The only reason I said anything on this thread, is that you've said quite a few times now on the forum that the DAS RMX160 is a 'great' or 'amazing' alternative to the dsp-heavy P100. This statement is not true in my opinion because the 2 plugins are lightyears apart, so I have to question why you would say things like that.
yes, and other persons are pointing out that they don't like this or that.bill3107 wrote:Well, my initial intention was to point out the fact that we have very - within Scope - very good tools for mixing (it was not the case 1 or 2 years ago) : DAS, DEVICE, SPACEF, STW, CELMO, BRAINWORX, ADERN...
So?
This is Planetz, not DAS' or anyone's own support forum.
Meanwhile back at the ranch......................
I have finally got to my Grand Piano Libraries which are many. But since I am fortunate to play the samples through a headphone while I sit at the real acoustic being emulated, it really is a great way to A / B both instruments in regards to authenticity.
I finally saved the activation key for DynaPara, as I am giving each EQ one night of work while I practice my classical chops. I really sucked on Chopin's Fantasie Impromptu. So this weeks long stint with Olive's EQ's should revive my chops.
This EQ not only has a fantastic sound, but is quite sophisticated in it's addition of dynamics, sides, and inserts for FX. I have only made one preset, but this is very deep for an EQ, and the fact it is a fast loader, I can add FX per preset while still playing w/o a glitch !! This is something I wish I could do on a Bowen synth, maybe Solaris w/ the new chips will be as snappy.
The solo features are very slick also. This has made my Gigastudio Grand w/ the pedal up / down body impulse so beautiful, I will be tickiling the ivories all night, all week. Adding SpaceF's FATCS4 into the insert is awesome. I use it to give body to content, but this particular piano already was beautifully recorded, so now I can actually bring in and out dynamics on that 4 to 4.4k range to enhance comps, or cut the whole octave with precision. This EQ can actually cure a guys heavy left hand syndrome by using the dynamics. My dynamics with the left hand are fine, as I solo w/ the left also, but for a guy struggling with dynamics, it could actually enhance his/hers playing ability.
I tend to prefer my hardware 91 over the soft reverbs I have and once the sound is dialed in, I bring in my re aquirred 91 and practically collapse from joy.
This Is A Real Pleasure Olive, Much Depth And Foresight Went Into This Device.
This EQ was meant for a Concert Grand, and with the PCM91 Taj Mahal prest and pedal/up and down resonance, I feel as though I am watching myself play. DynaPara is so accurate that the pedal noise can be heard when " ppp " levels ( pianisimmo ) are used.
FUCKIN' A,
This must be read to fully understand it's capabilities.

Agreed.
I personally think the RMX160 has a good sound, but I have been spolied by high quality hardware for over 30 years. I doubt that opinion will change. Besides, I built Scope for synths only, and have only been able to replace some delays with software, as one can never have enough of those.
I have yet to hear what I consider a high quality reverb in any software.. Many rave about PoCo, and UAD. I can assure you until you use a Lexicon PCM91 and it's sp/dif or AES / EBU into Scope, you are still at Radio Shack.
Even Pro Tools with it's Lexicon plug NuVerb sucked hind tit. When programmers quit trying to consider the users CPU / DSP needs, and go balls to the walls with as much power as it takes to get the sound right, this will continue. Politically correct reverbs and delays will never be displayed on my LCD's, ever.
Consider Me An Umpire, I Call 'Em Like I see "Em.

BTW Olive,
Price is not an object for me, but I must have DynaPara on my Gigastudio 3 DAW, and the SL9000 as well. These are awesome plugs and the transferring of liscense is no biggie. These are excellent enhancers, very impressive. Now I realise why my mixer is missed by the FOH guy, and the girls.
Do I Contact You, or The Body Of Ralf ?

well well well... i thought my english was clear enough but it seems it is not. when i try to make some 2d degree, it is even worse
.... Just forgive me if i over-reacted. It is just that i am touchy when it comes to justice : saying that a plugin is crap because someone has sent you a PM is ...heu... you know what i mean.
SFL gives his opinion after testing and he is not a developper so that's perfect. We all know that Internet is perfect for buzz, rumors. I just hope planetz will remain as neutral as possible for everyone.
As for my love for the P100/A100 i was among the first customers.... I really love these reverbs like i love the DAS one. You cannot blame me for being positive about a plugin i love. But i can blame you if you kill a device whereas you have not tested yourself....
As for the hardware vs plugins....of course, if i could i would buy a big Lexicon or an AMS NEVE hardware .... As we are talking about EQs, a dual preamp with good EQs (AMEK being one of the most affordable but hard to find) can be a very good idea for final EQS (mastering), thanks to the "zero" latency of scope. Of course, and that's why i mainly use plugins for EQs and comp, when you need several instances, a good plugin is just the only solution except for the wealthy...

@Bill:
this is what I said:
'About the reverb: I have a pm from someone (else than S.) who tested it deeply, and he was very negative about it (crap actually).
I don't know myself, as I don't bother about DAS products, but as you (Olive) can see: some people like your plugs very much (Bill, S4L, etc.), others think they are moderate or even crap.
That's exactly how it works for NI, EMU, and any company of the world: some like it, some don't.'
So, like I said, the subject here is not the reverb in itself, but the fact (therefor that pm reference) that opinions just tend to differ.
You were so-o positive about the reverb, don't be surprised some folks feel the need to take distance to that, specially if the subject is the unsurpassed P/A/100s...
If you can't follow that logic then I'm sorry for you.
To reassure you:
it's a well known fact that not only positive attention is good for selling a product, negative attention is that as well.
The only thing that is definitely not good is the absence of attention.
I can't say that Das threads in general are overly crowded, so I think my friend Olive even should be glad with this discussion
Btw, you are so concerned about developers behaviour on this forum, as you say:
'I cannot stand this kind of behaviour... Have you ever seen Martin (STW), Spacef, Celmo, ... criticize the work of other developpers ??????????????? Never, because these guys are professionnal like DAS staff is'
So, you think it's inappropriate for a (non-pro) developer to critisize a plugin of another (commercial) developer, and it's a shame he dare's to do...right?
Then tell me, did you ever see a pro developer call a forum member a rat in public?
In about your own words:
'Have you ever seen Martin (STW), Spacef, Celmo, ... call one of us a rat in public???????????????'
You said, '(Never,) because these guys are professionnal like DAS staff is'...well, don't make me laugh...(and where again has gone the other half of the professional staff...).
You can imagine, I don't feel so much compassion with the grief that you or my friend Olive might feel from seeing one of the das plugins critisized (after it was praised to heaven by you)?
'nuff said, cheers.

Thanks to express your thoughts. I am open minded. When i have something to say (bug, GUI, ad marketing, lack of support..) i tend to send an email. That's what i have already done for DAS, STW and Celmo but also Creamware when marketing was just missing... I thought that music forums like this one must stay peaceful and positive. That's why my posts mainly focus on what i love. But may be i am wrong.... And please, do not compare my post to that of someone who does not own the plugin. I do have the right to give comments as i have the keys
for that... You won't have any comment from me about Scroomz plugins because i do not have them on my computer, although most of people really appreciate this free contribution. Just a matter of logic to me .... I have been taught it is not wise to talk without knowing.
This forum like the french one are very friendly ... Only few posts tend to be agressive to me. As rumors and "gestapo-like" PMs , just avoid.
well, well, i think that this thread deserves more... let's talk about EQs ...

Hey Jo, good posts, with style.
Hub is a nasty debater when he wants it to be this way. He must be a very good chess player methinks....
A bit OT : I just came back from the Aresquiers beach (I had my camping-car on the beach park lot) for a few days. Seing you're in Montpellier, I wish I had your contact to make you a call. Oh well, maybe another time.
