Ken, I'll post a block diagram of the circuit later today.

Len, it's not so heavy on dsp. V0.3 was very heavy, but version V0.4 uses less than 1 dsp, which is pretty good considering what's inside this module.

update:-

V0.5 now available to download !!

- Added VOLUME control for attenuating output gain.
- Added a new version with built-in midi (DVC) & note assignment.
- GUI updates

There's also now a block diagram in the first post of the thread.

Shroomz, this is really a powerful kick drum device...

just testing it again, and especially with the env. feature you can make nearly every kind of kick in a very easy way....

its a good mix between
+ flexibility
+ easy handling with 4 knobs
thats what really counts....

is it supposed to open as a regular plugin?
If so, I only get a blue picture with 4 knobs of onlyknob positions, and nothing can be opened.
Should I load it into Modular?
V4 tho.
Sorry, know nothing of Modular, but wanne check this app out :-)

Yes, it's just modular at the moment, basically because it's more flexible in the modular enviroment (modulation sources on tap so to speak).

The main screenshot for v0.5 pretty much shows the basic connections, but if you're not familiar with the modular & want to check it out being sequenced from outside modular, just load the BD-1 v0.5M (the midi version) into an empty modular patch & connect it up as pictured below. This method works very well for sequencing the BD-1 from an external sequencer like cubase, an SPS-1 etc etc..

That basic setup will give you access to the basic BD-1 sound, but you should really try adding an MVC or DVC module & an AHD envelope (as pictured in the main screenshot on the first post) to allow contouring of the 'tone mod' for more kick variations. The decay mod is something that works very well with LFOs or the even the VEL output of an MVC or DVC module.

Excellent, it IS much lighter on resources now. It's very easy and quick to get the sound you want from this. I like the idea of making this a m3 module, it makes for interesting ways to tweak its sound.

Now where's the snare? Just kidding, but I wait with anticipation to see what's next.
