No MIDI assignment in STM

you just have to connect the midi like alfonso said.
what sequencer are you using? are you running the midi signal into sfp from your seq. or staright into sfp?
it's pretty much the same either way... you just route the midi signal from whatever the source into the midi in (on the top of the mixer in the routing window) of the mixer. then i always set the mixer to respond to chl 16.
then just right click whatever control on the mixer, move the corresponding midi controller, and click the +. that should be about it.
if you are using cubase, then you would just setup a midi track, assign it to
creamware midi I/O and assign midi chl to desired (i set mine to 16) and then whenever you want to control the mixer, click on that midi track you just setup.

hhhmmmm... this is odd... as... i never really tried to assign those until you brought it up... i just tried to and i can't assign mine either? you can bring up the midi assign dialogue box... but it just doesn't notice any midi movement at all??? and so far, i have checked almost all of the controls, and this seems to be the only one that doesn't respond... however... this only happens in the master panel. if you bring up the channels panel it works just fine... so wierd. perhaps another creamware bug?

puagggg!, I´m very, very, very disappointment, the problem with MUTE it´s resolute, the problem now is SOLO, I can assign a controler for this, but I can´t save this changes in a preset and I can´t assign controlers to EQ...
Another question. How I can make a bank select for select the MIDI presets and after a program change?.
I change the "factory preset" an "MIDI preset" folder ID to 1 and 0
I create the MIDI presets and assign ID´s
I save the file.
I think: send a control 0 (Bk sel msb) and control 32 (Bk sel lsb) and after a prgram change. It´s true?
The CC 0 and 32 must be free in the list box?

The Remote Presets don't always work as they should. I mean, usually they don't work properly here. So how to do it? Make a new project, assign most stuff that you want to automate, save the project and it will be saved within. Use this as template project.
I remotely control Mute and Solo without problems. Also, Channel Select can be done from the channel number at the bottom of the channel strip in the Master Panel -at least that's how I do it. It took me a while to find I must admit: I only discovered the channel selection remote last summer.

nitri, tell me all about it
I made a couple of different implementations for the STM series and PC1600x, and yes it's CW that has to do something about it if it has to be improved. Only when you're finally putting everything together you'll find that some CC# cannot be used, some parameters cannot be automated, Master fader is at -infinite while it looks to be at 0dB etc etc. I had to redo my implementation a couple of times and yes, it took a lot of work!
Sonolive I think it was, was working on a mixer with much better remote control, see Devices forum.

at0m|c: I'm not sure what exactly you mean by all the MIDI problems, since I've seen very few of them myself. I do know, though, that everything is "lost" when you optimize the project (or max out DSP etc). All the faders and knobs *look* right after an optimize, but most of them are actually at -inf. In order to get everything working again you have to completely reset every MIDI cc.
I was afraid of those cc memory problems recently when I started to use controllers in SFP, as some of you reported bad behaviour in this respect.
But it all works perfect on the recent new SFP synths like the Minimax, the Prodyssey and also the Solaris (on mac).
Don't know yet about the STM series, I will check that soon

blazesboylan, I haven't experienced the reset after DSP reload or so, but there's some other things... For example ADSR of Inferno and Minimax look good after loading MIDI preset, but the controls need to be wiggled manually/remotely/by loading synth preset. The same I have on some Master Fader, when I reload a MIDI preset and a couple other devices. That's about all I can think of, bugwise.
The rest is more limitations by design, for example that you cannot assign some of the top CC#, that you cannot remote the built-in effects etc. I wrote some article on MIDI in Study forum I think, and also my Pc1600x SFP preset topics mention the same issues.
Not much of showstoppers anymore, but it took a while to get used to it

Ah, I don't use the synths very often. But that behaviour sounds the same as what I experience after optimizing / DSP max-out. The faders in the 16/32, and the gain levels, thresholds and ratios in the expander and compressor, are all set to -inf, even though they show normal settings. Either wiggling or remote reset works to fix the situation. Sounds like it might be somehow related... I haven't tried changing presets on those devices. On 2004-10-30 20:10, at0m|c wrote:

Vale, los botones mute de la STM mix funcionan pero invertidos al secuenciador y al controlador. Si alguien sabe informarme sobre esto lo agradecería millones... aunque sea in english.
