hi there!

new to this forum and I desperatly need you your help on the following:

My system:

P4 3.0 gHz
ASUS P4c800 E-de luxe mobo
1 gHz ram
Luna II card
WD sata 10000 rpm HD
maxtor 7200 rpm HD

have installed the latest XP including service pack 2

I have a dual boot_ on the c partition scope 4 installed fine and works like a charm.

Now I tried to install on the second partition : scope 4 installs it files all over the place (in E:Scope but also in My documents!)

It reads : installation succesfull ,,. if I start Scope it cannot find its files (devices , projects etc) and the software keeps on asking (with a pop-up screen) for a key to "reference resolver" and Cubase SX 2.2 cannot load the asio scope driver.

If I install cubase on the cpartition (on wich Scope is correctly installed and working) thers is no problem with asio driver.

Also : when I try to uninstall scope , it reports: no installation found - abort! Unnstalling does not work.

I did several reinstalls of XP on that partition: loading Scope 4 seems to work, but the program itself does not function porpperly.

I did update the ASPi thing.

It seems like Scope 4.installer is writing it's files to wrong locations and is not registering it self properly (hence the reference resolver issue and the blank lines in the directory paths?)

Please help: I'm realy stuck!

Thanks, but it is a new XP with Service pack 2 integrated... dont have an oldér version...

Also: I did already read the thread in your link. But why is it then that scope runs smoothly on the one partition , and like crap on the other one...both installs we're done identical.

that's what puzzles me..

thanks anyway

I know these aren't real fixes, but they may get the job done. You mention files being put in My Documents etc instead of where they belong.. I don't know the cause, but maybe putting them in their positions relative to the good installation on c: may help. Also check out cset.ini for file paths, and make sure they're correct. If that works, you can even set identical modules, devices, presets etc folders from cset.ini, for example all on c:.
As a last resort, you could try to copy the SFP folder from c: to the other partition, you never know.

Also, is there anything different in Driver Signing in SP2? Why else would it act so weird? Hm...

I tried setting all the files on the "drama" partition as they are set on c partition: no effect. it has to do with the software somehow not registering properly and therefore it is unable to find all the files it needs to function properly. I think I'll just link to the correct scope installation on the c partition to get sound on the other partition.
Thank you very much for your help!

thanx for thinking with me!
