I'm actually stage-managing this tour too as of recently, and we've finished a week at the theatre in the city, now it's 3 weeks in metropolitan schools, then a southwest tour through nyoongar country

the play is set up north in Port Hedland, amongst mangroves, anthills and cyclones

uses b2003, profile telecaster, musicman stingray 5, p-100, cd-100, microtonic vst, some crappy timbale samples, vinco, optimaster, psyq, 2448.

Very nice skanky stylie indeed...you'll have to excuse me slightly at the moment as I'm high as a freekin' kite on the glue the carpet fitters are using in our offices today.

I like it, nice guitar and nice global "atmosfere"; very "junky"

In my Ns10m it sounds good, but in my headphone monitor there's a bit to much low end.

Anyway a good work in my opinion

wakes up my old and deep love for reggea

I would like to hear it with a classical bass on the third count, leaving the first empty...

to get a less clean drumsound you also could examine a sampled reggea loop(s) (as me is allways only counting the result, not bothering about the satisfaction of self programming

).
Or...edit your drums with some cruel effects, like bit reduction, smart distortion, specially on the hihats (and bassdrum), and some delay effects

hey, cool ideas, hub

the drums are underdone, true, and it's generally sort of simple for the little kids, but there's probably room for it to become a piece in it's own right (not just serving a play)

seems to be the way things work at the moment - write some theatre music, ooh, might develop that further into an actual song

Heaven knows what kind of solvent was being used in that glue last Friday - I can still smell it today! Still, all over now (and nice new bouncy carpets in the office).

again a very musical track! not a real reggae fan, but it's cool nevertheless. i think just replacing the synthetic sounding kick with an accoustic one could already make it that much nicer.
