I jammed with them a couple of times, and we decided to take one of their songs and to make a full fledged arrangement of it. They made the tune+melody, and I did the tracks+chorus arrange+recording.
Vocals are cerainly off at places, and we still have some guitar phrases to record, but it's pretty much finished. Seeking comments!
Strings are from GPO
Kicks+snare are In the Ass and Chopp
Bass is Hummel bluesynth through Celmo Explosives
Wurlitzer is Scarbee Wurlitzer samples trough Celmo Explosives
Rest is Sampletank
Chorus is shimmered up with PsyQ.
vocal piece in Japanese

Lyric's about a broken antenna on a cellphone. Ya know, how a broken cellphone sort of becomes a metaphore for bad communication between a couple.
Hope you all liked the chorus arrangement. It was particularly hard to beef up because the chord progression at the chorus was a straight cadence and lacked tensions to build on. The chorus is all autotune by the way. Saved hours of work!
Anything particular about the mix? Tried to remain a bit on the "smooth" side and refrained from making anything cut through the mix too much. Strings are quite bright tho, compared to the original sound.
Paritcularly would be interested in hearing opinions about the miced acoustic guitar in the middle section. The player forgot the line adapter so I had to record by mic. And I'm not at all experienced in micing guitars. Sounds sort of aggressive to my ears. The chorus guitars are also miced. The rest is line.

groups of this caliber rarely play on u.s.a. streets...
good job on the guitars. micing something isn't really that hard. it's just like the voice, you point he mic at the object and go... fun, no?
my only complaint is that the reverb (especially on the drums at about 3 min) is a bit hollow and boxy for my taste. i really like the overall mix, though. i also like the use of dub effects throught he whole piece.
this song is really pleasant to listen to, melody-wise. it'd be a good anime closing theme.......
