NOAH
_____________________________________

This was a mystical idea I had for a actually very straight r'n'b song made by AISHA. I got all the vocals on an mp3, and throwed in a beat which was not in tempo, but 3/4 off. And then my imagination AND the song took a strange turn.

If you are wondering why the choir in the ref sounds so strange, it's because they all come as one mp3 file, so didn't have the oppotunity to separate things proberly.

More from this project soon. Hope you like. We are working on http://www.thalamusic.dk/aisha

well done, really!
but I don't hear any 3/4, I'd swear it's 'just' a 8/8!
Am I crazy?

Nice..funky shit..

How are those vocals treated. v much like to know. i don't really know bugger all about treating vocals.. think i can hear double tracking, delay reverb, any thing thing else? is there slight vocoding?

also i mean in generall what do you do to vocals as all your vocals on your tracks sound great..

hope you don't mind sharing this

This rocks,

That beat has me bobbin my head no doubt, that snare is just vicious! the vocal is great, and the bassline is a perfect fit, this has some serious potential, could be a radio hit for sure! Has that Koshene(sp?) vibe for sure but more soulfull..

Cheers!

NEW VERSION UPLOADED

Hi dudes,

Sorry for my delayed reply, and thx for your comments.

liquid: The vocals on the track original posted here, was extreme lowcutted (1000 hz), extreme compressed (UAD 1176LN), EQ boost in 5/10 khz area (UAD pulteq pro) and runned through several picthshifters and tape delay.

The vocaltrack is from a MP3 file with choir on it too. The actual recording is quite badly recorded through a very boomy mic. Ofcause in the end, we are going to track everything again to match the final desicion.

What I meant by 3/4 becomes apparent if you hear the defferend versions below.

Startpoint:

D&B version:

Curious...in both the first and the 4rth file the voice starts on a 'second' beat, while the other two let it start at the main 'one'.
I prefer it starting on the second (like in the original)

cheers for the info thalamus.

i gotta say the d&b version (though i'd call it breakbeat sounding).. second one down, is the best, in my opinion.

spose the pithshifting use is adding that slight vocoding sound..

btw i'd very much like to get hold of the full version of the second one.

Cheers

Keep Rollin'
