Having managed to achieve recorded audio without crackles in Cubase I have been trying out LOGIC AP without much success.

When I record an midi track to audio in LOGIC, it crackles and stutters on playback, but if I add a few effects and generally play around with it a bit the crackles seem to subside and eventually dissapear.

What's happening here then, it's almost like a loose connection in the ASIO's that goes after a bit of twiddling. That can't be right can it? If i fiddle around with the driver settings in LOGIC I get the 'illegal operation' message and sometimes 'The ASIO hardware is damaged' or something to that effect. Anyone ever got these problems?

I have read through the archives and a lot of advice seems to be pointing towards DMA settings. I haven't got the option to activated or deactivate these settings. There simply isn't a box to tick and I'm wondering if this is the root of the problem.

Anyone go any hints.
