Hi!

I was just wondering if it is possible to use Pulsar and Elektra together in XTC mode. Cubase says that Elektra cannot be run in XTC accelerator mode, then it tries to activate my (Elektra-) z-link interface (where my luna box is attached) and dies continueing the message that a module couldn't be loaded 'cause it is already loaded.

Is there anyone out there using Elektra+Pulsar I in XTC mode with z-link enabled? This information would help a lot!

Thank you,
Robert

The Accelerated mode message is okay, it just means that it found I/O on your boards, so you're running in "XTCpro" mode (XTC with i/os instead of pure Accelerator mode (no i/o)). Yes, strange wording on that message but it is documented.

As far as XTC devices, open Pulsar/luna like normal and load each device and enter the keys-- you only have to do this once. THEN use the XTC mode and no crashes. BTW this is all documented  And hopefully this fixes everything for you now.

Hi subhuman!

Thanks for your quick response. But I don't understand what you mean, the problem only occurs when I enable the z-link-a-source of my elektra in the xtc settings (in cubase asio-settings). If I only enable the z-link-a-dest, cubase starts without problems and I can even use the analog and spdif ios of the elektra. But when I add the z-link-source to the inputs, cubase will crash on next restart or when clicking 'reload ios'. I found out that I can manually deselect the z-link input by editing projectxtc.ini with notepad, but I can't use my inputs

So you mentioned I should start Pulsar as normal and drag the z-link-source and dest into a project? I did this already, in Pulsar environment everything works great, but I never had to enter a serial for my elektra or the z-link-modules.....

By the way: The green 'power' led on my luna box turns on when I start cubase, right before the error.. strange

Is there anyone out there with a similar configuration? Help

Thanks,
Robert

I have also the luna box, and was also unable to load it, same message, modules already loaded, and green light also is on. Didn't find the fix yet. Also, I usualy have Luna input, and Pulsar analog XLR output (Pulsar out to my monitor and luna out to my headphone), and i'm only able to send to ONE output at a time, after choosing the right one onti hardware driver2 setup in Logic.

If both are selected, none is outputting.

And i think i'll stick to the pulsar OS, there isn't enough of my favorite synth in XTC yet (i love the Saturn, lofi, Three-o-three and modular2 too much), and i just bought the PulsarMixer 24/48. I must say it is VERY VERY USABLE! Better than the Scope/SP (cuz of mono/stereo switch).

So just too bad for XTC, it'll stay a feature not used for me!

BTW, subhuman, i'll give the VolksZamler CD to somebody else, cuz it's included in the propack, all configured etc...

Ciao!

This is interesting. Seems as if it is a bug in xtc? I wonder if they tested the config lunabox+xtc before.

So, I guess there is nobody who was able to use the luna-box in xtc mode?

It's a bug in XTC. I have a similar ptoblem with PulsarXTC using PowerSampler IOs. The workaround is to delete the projectxtc.ini file completely and then start cubase. Now you can select yout IOs in the asio settings within Cubase.

I wish that would work...

I have to mention that ALL ios DO work, except the z-link. I only changed the entry from the projectxtc.ini to be able to start cubase in xtc mode again, otherwise cubase starts trying to load that input again, what leads to a crash.

I think it's a bug, as long as there is nobody reporting that lunabox and xtc mode is working for him

Quite possibly, be sure to email support@creamware.de with the specifics, in case they don't already know about it.

After reading your posting here that at least the other Luna IOs get loaded, I replaced my PS Z-Link module files by the corresponding Luna Z-Link ones (and renamed these from Luna*.* to PS*.*). This partly solved my problem, I don't have to delete the projectxtc.ini anymore. The Z-Link IOs don't get loaded, as you said, but at least there is no complete crash. Resuming, it seems that the PS Z-link files are super crap and cause a complete crash of all IOs, while the Luna ones are only half crap, they don't get loaded themselves but they don't crash the other IOs. Perhaps I'll give the Elektra ones a try. Anyway, now we know that both problems are related to crap Z-Link module files.
Thanks for listening.
