I can see no reason why CWA should fix an XP problem with a certain ASUS board.

If you can cure it by a 50 bucks external box - do it.
or replace the mobo at your trusted dealer

cheers, Tom

Also,

Put MidiFilter module in the chain and filter all unused data.

I've never been able to use my Roland XP-80 via Pulsar Midi IN......stuck notes galore:
the solution - use a different interface.
It will happily take Midi Clock or work with other keyboards though.
It's a pain but I love Pulsar so much that I just have to live with it.

The first Creamware Card I had was the Luna II ex. The Midi In didn't work. So I sent the Luna to Creamware for repairing the MIDI In. They send it back with a pair of new MIDI cables, which didn't solve the problem of course.
So in the end I sold it and I bought a second-hand Scope Professional.

The Luna is the worst Creamware Card you can have!

When you buy a Creamware Card, go for a second hand Pulsar II or Scope. There are lots of them sold at eBay.

Well, i can't fault my lunaII...

My midi always worked perfectly, including the use of soundiver (while i was using logic PC).

I can't say the same about my Pulsar1+

Just to say that luna is not bad... Maybe at that time, there was something else on your PC.

Luna midi is as good as Pulsar2, for sure

Ok, SlideDexter, we posted at the same time...

Do you have both midi in AND out connected to the master keyboard?

Maybe the keyboard as midi thru? Making a loopback?

Also, make an EMPTY project, empty like NOTHING, not even a wav driver, no mixer, no asio, nothing....

Jus tload Luna Midi Source and midi monitor...

Try playing some notes, pitch bending, modwheel, etc... Goal: sending midi only, alot of midi if you can...

Does it crash?

No?

Ok, load a mixer and a small synth, bluesynth for example. Connect it:

Luna midi source to bluessynth to mixer to luna analog out...

Play the same thing that you played previously...

Doesn't crash?

Then, at least, you know it's not luna... period...

Test this, and come back here, i'll make you test the next part (sequencer integration).

I bet it's that PCI latency setting again. What is it set to at the moment? Also, is your keyboard sending out MIDI Clock messages?

My frustration about the Luna II was as big as yours.
First you buy a brand new Luna, and then you can't even connect your keyboard to the card to make music!!!

I've also tried all possible things to solve it, but never got it solved. In the end I sold te Luna.

I had difficulties in the beggining too, but after reading this and CW forums I learned a lot. The information gathered in these forums not only helped me understand how to set up my CW card but also how to make my PC run faster and improve the performance of other applications. I guess when we get our CW cards, we are all excited and somewhat disappointed if the card does not work right from the beggining, but once all the hurdles are overcome, the rewards are incommensurable.

(There, a little, humble, speech from me, )

my pulsar one has a faulty midi out - it was a demo unit in a Sydney shop.

it was very frustrating to try and get working, because i never knew if it was me or the card. I asked everywhere.

eventually i got a midisport 2x2, and another card later, but that first year or two was very trying!

hope it works out for you soon, it is worth persevering

Plugging in and trying another midi controller will immediately reveal whether the problem is the controller or the card. This will save a lot of mucking about....
