Yes I've read about this too. Its all very interesting stuff! I also read about the digi HD 192 and 96 convertors. From what I understand, the AD convertors chips in the 96 are not less capable than the 192 AD convertor chips. Apparently the major difference is in the filters! Surprise surprise. So whack the same filters in the 96 and maybe it's a little harder to tell the difference?! I would love to hear what the real deal is but I guess I'll never know.

I remember a while back when I thought of something that justified "more khz the better".. The higher the roof top, the less aliasing, or nyquist mirroring, you're going to get. (but you will eventually hit the point anyhow) So I would guess that it's important for rom-table synths, etc. to have an internal clock that is very high.

Of course, the deal is different from CD or DVD style playback, but high samplerate does have its ups.
