Mod 111

Fellas I am new to Scope Modular Synths and also the Mixer 2448. I have two Luna 11 cards in my PC with Midi in/out connected to a Yamaha PSR 540 Keyboard. I am trying to record some Mod tracks but the ones I have recorded is always being rerecorded with the new tracks. I need a recording project with Logic, the 2448 Mixer and the Mod 111. Thanks.

It depends on routing. I'll post here a project picture containing example routings when I get home this evening.

It looks like you have your sequencer set to receive a CW mixer mix outputs while an output from Logic is directed to the mixer. Have to prepare a project because I don't see it in my head, hmmm... You have a kinda loop which can be avoided by muting appropriate input in logic during the recording process. Or rather muting the Logic chanel which is feeded from Logic.

That is exactly what is happening. I had a feeling it was something like that but I just cannot figure it out. Send me that project "PRONTO". I really need to have those lovely sounds from my MOD 111. I have just bought it together with the Mixer 2448. These things are just marvellous. I have just sold my Behringer 1832 mixer and bought a Mackie/Tapco 6306 mixer. Small but very good Preamps.

Busy time (Murphy's law). I'll do it in this evening. Since projects can't be shared between PC and Mac I just prepare an image so you can copy it.

I got some asistance from Plato and others and managaed to successfully record some tracks but I still would greatly appreciate that image file so I can have a good look at it to fully understand the connections. I have been checking the forum regularly. I realized you were busy. Thanks.

This is a simple project containing only the necessary connections. I don't have mod3 so it's mod2 instead but it doesn't do any change, I suppose. In Logic you should just have always one track record enabled (armed). If you have several midi tracks containing data for a corresponding mod3 instance you should have all other muted (this you know, I belive). Now, just record one track and then put the recorded file in desired audio track, then another recording and drag it to another track etc.

And sorry for the delay (latency?)

And if you have any other connection then it should be muted or disconnected for the moment of recording. I mean connections in SFP.

What I did additionally was to connect the asio
source to the Mixer, Connect Luna analog dest to Mixer LR and monitor via Control Room. You pointed me in the correct direction. Thanks

Regarding the Luna analog in - I don't use any analog ins now but I used to. And I found that it can produce (or gear connected to it) some noise. So if you don't use it at a moment - mute it. I found also that placing a channel module between the analog IN and the mixer and inserting a dither module in it raises the quality. Just play with the dither module settings for your desired quality (you have to listen to the input very loudly with connected gear but with no sound out of it).

As I said I am pretty new to the Modular Synths. I have a lot of experimenting to do. The sounds of those Mods are great. I find them better than hardware. Thanks.
