Hi,

I have a rather non conventional question....

I want to install 2 CreamWare cards in one machine.... -that is no problem ....

I would like one of them to run SFP, and the other XTC ....

I have read somewhere here that it is possible to have two installations on the harddrive at the same time, so I am wondering, is it possible to let one be the XTC, the other installation the SFP.

I would then like to connect say the analog or digital I/O of a Scope to a mixer or the main soundcard ....

Then the sequencer sees only the XTC board, and the sound from the sequencer (Nuendo) sends the output to a Motu 828....

Anyone tried such a setup?

As a Mac user i have no XTC experience, but i'm guessing that if you take yhe question mark out of your subject line you'll have your answer. Nice idea though

Yes, it is a good idea!

 I think it is possible....

.... by not installing the XTC plugs when installing Scope, leaving the XTC plug in.

That way the Scope's clock won't interfere with the other soundcards ....

And by installing Pulsar XTC into another directory, and installing the XTC VST functionality only on this card.

Then I would have full SFP dedicated DSP via Scope board, and mixing plugins via Pulsar XTC with it's own DSP only for that.

Try it and let us know. I have not heard of people who got it to work yet. Maybe you should not connect the cards with STDM cables. I don't think you can do it, but the effort of trying is much less, that the gain you may feel you get with your personal way of working.

It is such a good idea, that perhaps CWA can implement something for it's use. It just increases the posibilities. Good one.

i'd guess you can't use both programs at the same time,but......

if it didn't work, you'd still have the extra dsps...

great idea, specially now i bought me a second hand XTC card.
Let's hope mac OS-X will support XTC AND your idea works.
Would be nice indeed if CWA would support it, if it doesn't do it now

The Scope software recognizes both cards at once and complains if you don't have S/TDM cables present. So I don't think you can run it and XTC at the same time...

It'd be really nice, though, if you could!! At the moment I think you'd have to buy another computer.

I have not tried yet,
because I think it is too much registry and driver issues with this ....

I think it is possible to do it if CWA lets you install 2 x SFP's, and only importing the cards for each config.

Problem is registry I think.

References to SFP files etc?

I am not sure....

All the best.
