Hi, I've some trouble to import Akai cd's into battery (NI battery)... The plug don't see any CD, akai cd I mean. I think it's not related to aspi driver, because Halion has not this kind of problem...
Any suggest?

Thanks in advance!

I have exactly the same problem, although I can access Akai CDs from the SFP browser

Was the original article.

I think that you should be able to use the SFP browser to get the Akai samples onto you local HDD, then I think that you can load the samples into Battery from there.

Personally, I tend to use the STS samplers ot load Akai samples as it avoids having to go through these additional steps.

Thank for your reply Counterparts,
I use an other workaround to import samples, with CDXtract conversion into wav's. I like to play drums with NI Battery and sounds like pads, bass etc with samplers like Halion or Sts 2000 or 3000. What I like in Battery is that you can drag easy the samples from browser... but sometimes I would like to import directly from akai's...

I personally prefer my percussion in software as its sample accurate and that gives u a lot more flexibility for processing & layering drums (reduces phase issues etc).

So I extract all sample cd's that are worth it to my samplelib harddrive, and then build drum kits and the like by hand (basically anything that doesn't need super complicated multilayered zones with crossfades & splits etc). This does a LOT to conserve on ram and reduce page swapping/bus hogging from the software samplers.

The STS samplers are best for me when I want to do a lot of mucking about with basses or nice layered programs meant for playing on keys...

I'm agree with you Valis,
I still use Recycle for cutting some loops and importing wavs into battery. So you can edit single kit, I mean tuning, volume, fx on separated channel and so on, and so I can play "live" different rhythm and change many things from original sample... I think that it's important to change from the original loop/samples and give... the touch!
... well...I try!
