I saw very positive reviews in papers, the sound source seems to be great.
iTunes, IMovie, iPhoto, iDVD, iLogic (hehe), now it's complete.
The mac a real family computer, ideal for parents and kids with hobbies:
soft and hardware totally integrated, good looks for in the living room, and you just buy it and it works already...be honest, isn't this great?
Big disadvantage: you soon need two of them

iKnow nothing about them but iMust say that iWould never buy something with such a riduclous name. iKnow this is a poor reason, but it just seems so puerile and patronising.

Likewise I never buy anything prefaced by "smart".

My brother bought iLife to get GarageBand. It's cool to play around with, and it has an awesome guitar amp simulator; but otherwise, it's pretty useless for pro users. Since he already had Logic, there was no point in going backward!

Apple can be extremely strange sometimes - looks like they try to establish an 'upper mass market' - instead of their former 'computer for the rest of us'

Anyway, some attention may pay off: we ordered half a dozen Cubes 4 years ago for the office which would sell for almost the same price on eBay today - just because they made it to the Museum of Modern Art in New York

sure, it's just for hobby aims, but nicely integrated and partly working together.

, it started with the iMac, I guess then came iTunes, etc.
But together they are sold as 'iLife'.
Compare it with the renaming issue of SFP, it's good do have clear naming in the market.
And don't forget, we are with stupid, we got to get to get it very easy and simple, otherwise we won't understand...

soundflower and 'jack' seem to be cool to. one place to connect just everything audio/midi related in your computer. no more things like 'can't run these two apps together, when i'm also using this... can't get midi to both... '
i would never buy an album from an artist going by the name of 'spirit'

though the music might be great.
also, i'm getting pretty close to the point of not taking anything serious anymore which is posted by one-braincelled people. this is not an emotional mac user statement. your arguments are not worth a dime... where are your links to the facts you claim from others??? has there recently been a scientific research to compare the intelectual capabilities of mac/win/linux or whatever user base? i strongly suggest to go to the ableton live forum for mac/pc bashing parties.
i'm equally happy with my XP laptop/RME setup as with my macOS/SFP system. they work together like a charm (midi/ADAT connected) and both have their (dis)advantages.

You know, when I was 11 I was trying to program tones on an ibm pc internal speaker using short bursts of tone (you could approximate most frequencies if your asm was tight enough) and on a commodore 64 using simple scripting languages. Mostly I was playing games, but the learning curve behind doing music with these machines only led me to old trackers.

These days Logic (even the 'old' PC version) is definately more for my needs now, but I can't imagine what I would do now if I were 11 and given this on an iMac.
